Nestled in Friday Harbor, this lovely condo for $124 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Studio in Downtown Friday Harbor with Full Bath. Great Space for a Couple. Walking distance from the ferry landing. The Logger Suite is one of 5 separate Suites to rent among the Acanthus House. The Logger is a second floor studio with a (new in December 2023) double bed, sitting area, a kitchenette and private bath that includes a sink, toilet, shower and small tub. It is furnished with a table and chairs. This studio suite is equipped with Wi-fi and a Smart TV so guests can log-in to their preferred streaming services. Guests will find that one block from Acanthus Suites will bring you into the heart of downtown Friday Harbor, offering many delicious restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, ice-cream shops and art galleries, all within walking distance. On Saturday mornings the local San Juan Island Farmer's Market is a 5-minute walk from the Acanthus Suites! Any or all Acanthus Suites can be rented for different group sizes! The Acanthus House is one of Friday Harbor's first important historic homes. Built in 1913, it was a wedding gift for a wealthy merchant's daughter. It has been beautifully restored. Located in historic downtown Friday Harbor; only 3 blocks from the ferry dock and Port of Friday Harbor and is an excellent option for those coming to explorer the island and have a comfortable place to rest at night. Parking available to guests. The Acanthus House does not have Air Conditioning. The unit does not have laundry facilities. **Kitchenette means mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups. Toaster available upon request. ** The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing. Internet Speed Test Results… Download Speed: 35.29 Mbps -- Upload Speed: 13.3 Mbps -- Ping: 50 Ms (Average of three tests that were conducted January 2024 using SpeedCheck Pro) This Suite has good cell phone reception. The place is adequate but I wouldn't stay again. It's not a bad place, it's more hostel like than a BnB. The room was tiny and it is an old house. The rate I paid because I was last min booking was absolutely OUTLANDISH for the room. There's no privacy in the bathroom. It's a curtain. The signs around the place are less than welcoming. I ran into other boarders while I was there and it was unanimous. Nothing terrible but we'd never choose it again. No AC and it was hot!
Pro: location was great. Everything was within a 5 min walk.

This place's location is the best thing going for it! The price starts out cheap but doubles after fees and taxes. It is a nice old house with no insulation and you can hear everything going on with your neighbors. The rooms just down the hall are meant to be connected but on the outside so there is noisy banging of doors at all hours as children go in and out of the main room. The first night there was a party that lasted till midnight. The proprietor said he would come over, but it was late and I did not think they would continue. I should have had him come.
The little room is quite small and made even smaller by the slanting eaves. The house cleaner said she hates to clean the room because she is always hitting her head.
If you only plan to stay a night or 2 and are not worried about noise and don't have a car, this place might work for you. But I do not recommend it.

There were several unfriendly signs in the apartment , stating :If you move any cups or utensils to another place you will be fined $200. If you check out after 10 am you will be fined $200 .

Acanthus Suites, specifically the Logger's Suite was absolutely perfect! The walking distance to downtown Friday Harbor was short. The suite was clean and supplied with all that we needed. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it!

Spot on in every way
Tony, the housekeeper attended to any minor need we had. The location was ideal, parking perfect for two motorbikes, and an endless supply of hot water for much welcomed showers after days spent hiking. The only minor issue is the real need for a blackout curtain above the sink. Lovely stay all around.

The house is in a great location, I walked from the ferry and all around town comfortably. I didnt have a car and enjoyed myself. The room is nicely laid out, good breeze from the windows. It was nicely appointed with dished and such for two people. Sound does carry easily thru the halls, but everyone was respectful of quiet time and headphones easily blocked all sounds. I would happily stay here again.

I appreciated the location and amenities at this vacation rental, and we did enjoy our stay. The unit was rather dirty, however, which was not apparent at first due to the dim light and the brown color of the floor and rug. I might not have noticed it, but my 3-year-old was on vacation with me. As toddlers do, he sat down on the rug after his bath to put on his pajamas. When he stood up, his bottom looked like an everything bagel, with clumps of hair (not ours!) in his butt crack! I was appalled and immediately put him back in the shower. I found a small vaccuum in the bathroom and cleaned the rug myself after that. The next day, the sun was shining in the unit. I looked up from the breakfast table and noticed cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, directly above the table at which we were eating. My rental cost included an $80 cleaning fee, which I believe I should be reimbursed for. Basic cleanliness was unfortunately lacking in the room we rented.

QWe found this to be a small. cute space for a couple wanting to explore Friday harbor and San Juan island with friends. it suited out needs quite well. That said, we noticed a few things about this place that would improve it: there could be a door separating the toilet/bath space from the main room--wouldn't be hard to install. Even couples like us prefer a little privacy. also: add soap dish (plus soap) for the shower, light by bed, a few hooks for clothing in the shower area and perhaps a few more hooks on the wall in the refrigerator nook.

Brief December stay in Logger Suite
Pleasant cute place for two of us to use as a home base during a three day stay. It feels small—that’s a given in a room created out of what might have been attic space. It would be improved with a door to the toilet/shower area, rather than just a curtain. Even couples like us prefer a little privacy. Other little touches would help—clothes hooks, soap dish in bathroom. Also add a reading light over/by the bed

Great homey stay!
Loved my time on the San Juan's and my quaint studio while staying there. It was very homey and was perfect walking distance to get around to down town Friday Harbor by foot. The management was amazing, they helped me to extend my stay by one day! I'd be back again for sure! :)

The Acanthus Suites were perfectly located for a quick walk to town. The brewery was essentially in the backyard, which was great. Ample parking. The only drawback was that there was not a bathroom sink; you needed to use the kitchen sink to wash your hands. Granted it's a small space but a tiny pedestal sink tucked in the corner would have been great. Overall, great room and excellent location.

Perfect little hideaway
The "threatening charges" of $100 if you remove some item from the room and $200 if you check out later than 10:00 were a bit daunting, but we just obeyed all rules and enjoyed the location. If the click worked and the toilet seat write solidly attached, it would have been perfect. But it was a fun, quaint place to stay. We enjoyed it.

The room was very coze and the entertainment options were plentiful. The location was fantastic, very close to down town restuarants, stores, and the ferry. The room was comfortable and in a great location. A couple blocks from town with great restaurants and shopping. The island is a beautiful place I have travel here many times although it is thousands of miles away. I stayed by myself this time and felt very safe. I would stay here again.
