Great place in a great location. We were only staying overnight on our way back to the UK via Le Shuttle, but it was perfect for what we needed. Indeed we're now thinking of visiting for a longer visit (Mechelen looks like a really interesting place) and would definitely check out availability here. The building has a lot of traditional character about it, with the large opening windows that look down on the street. Despite that, the room was clean and everything we needed was available. And the shower in our room was brilliant, unlike many low pressure, tiny efforts we've seen in the past. The host was very helpful regarding our queries, and the listing makes clear about the parking. However, we managed to get a spot in the road outside, and there's several apps that can be used to pay.

Decent price for the delivered offer. I liked the walk in shower. The place was clean, the facilities are in good shape, TV has netflix, youtube. I liked the no smoking rule actually. The eventually provided code worked no problem. I didn't use the facilities downstairs. Location is decent, close to train station, some good bus stops and close to city center. Despite next to a somewhat busy street it was quiet, slept well. AC worked well.
The communication is bit ambiguous. I was told I should check in at specific time, but there was no check in, just going into room. I never saw the staff, which is fine, but confusing as per communication. The toiletries are there (soap + shower gel), but soap is in the walk in shower, and there is no separate soap for the sink, so you need to lean into the shower to get any and wash up. This could have been solved better. Walls are thin, so you'll hear and might get disturbed by other guests, which is why the owner mentions to be quiet and respectful of others.

- good location (only a few minutes walking to all major sights)
- JGA/Stag groups: the property doesn’t seem to have live in staff, and although we thought we’d be safe booking a property with such a limited number of rooms, we were woken up twice by two different groups coming back in. Once at 01:30 by a group who whistled and chatted for thirty minutes outside our door (the soundproofing is NON EXISTENT) and then again at 02:40 by a group who were staying above us. There is nothing in the info sent before hand and nothing hung up in the corridor asking people to respect quiet hours, meaning a very bad nights sleep.
- We were in room 3, and the other room on the floor (2) has a bathroom in the corridor instead of the room. This means that every time someone used the bathroom you heard the door opening and closing, and the beeping pin pad used to let them back in. Better soundproofing is needed for that room!
