The hotel is pleasant and it has all that is needed. Next to the cathedral, very nice location. Good breakfast.
It was a period, when hotels in Brussels were crowded and this was an affordable solution with easy daily access to Brussels.
It is a bit far from the railway station. There is a bus not far from the hotel going to the railway station in few minutes, but the other way round be careful. It has a complicated routing, it is better to ask the driver first.

Convenient, central location in Mechelen. Good-sized single room with an en-suite and a comfortable bed. I was visiting friends and also attending Maanrock.
The music from the Maanroock stages kept me awake until around 2 am. Though the central location of the hotel was convenient, it was also close to a church. The church bells were rung from 4 am and every hour, on the hour - at least that's what occurred on Sunday. The morning after my one-night stay. This disturbed my sleep a lot, as I was woken every hour.

The location is in a small street in front of the St Rombouts, the middle of the center and good neighbourhood.
Mixed feelings with internet access to hotel and room. You need a smart phone, and don't loose it, or you you can't enter the hotel and call a special service.
Received message to pick up the keys in another hotel, but the staff of that hotel told that I should go strait to
Drie Paardekens because the reception was open.
I required a quiet (backroom) room and got a room at the street side, first floor.
The shower cabinet in bathroom was very small, difficult to enter because the toilet is blocking the entrance of the shower. The toilet is small and very low to the ground.....
Not many local TV programs.

"Great location,comfy bed but very noisy outside one of the nights we stayed. Staff were friendly-although we only seen them at breakfast time. Breakfast was a good selection too.
