Exceptional

Beyond exceptional. Cannot rate this property highly enough. Professional and friendly staff, excellent facilities, delicious freshly cooked breakfast with all the trimmings, on site parking, walk to town (recommend Balmoral Bar). And you might see a pheasant!

This was a wonderful guest house in a special part of Scotland.

Superb from arrival to departure.

Brilliant stay all together! Amazing building outside and in. Superb Breakfast, excellent room (one), Perfect location to walk and explore Ballater and the surrounding area. Alison and Les are the perfect hosts!!!

A 5 star experience

Check-in was very speedy, staff welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with ample off street parking. Our bedroom had everything we needed, comfy beds, lovely linen, luxury toiletries and nice garden view. Breakfast was excellent with ingredients locally sourced and freshly prepared. The cooked breakfast was hot on arrival and there was an excellent selection of beverages, cereals, fruit and home-baking to choose from the buffet. Will book to stay again.

Brilliant find, will return for longer!

Just a short walk from the centre, but a beautiful room in a lovely building. Hosts, Les and Allison were very helpful and welcoming. Homemade granola and plum compot ( made with plums from garden) were especially delicious. Decor and furnishings very elegant and in keeping with the era of the building. Will definitely be returning. Plenty of coffee shops, stylish gift shops with local products and restaurants. There’s also a very well stocked butcher with a good selection of part prepared meals for self catering visitors, along with a a coop for everyday goods. The very helpful staff in the information centre give visitors a full overview of the attractions of the area and beyond. Beautiful place to recharge and appreciate nature at its best!

The breakfasts were brilliant! lots to chose from. all cooked fresh to order. Home made jams, bread, pancakes, Potato cake (similar to Hash Browns) and scones
