Angkana Bungalows are lovely individual small bungalows set in lovely planted grounds close to the beach and easily walkable into Thong Sala. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need and are simply, but stylishly decorated and built using local materials. You also have a nice veranda. Rooms include a fridge, kettle, hairdryer, safe and towels. They even provide a couple of sarongs and light anti-mosquito coils in the evening. The owner Matteus is extremely helpful, I quizzed him several times on beaches to go to, where to hire a moped etc, and he couldn't have been nicer. The staff are friendly, polite and efficient. And my room was spotlessly clean. They have a cute little restaurant and bar (the food is home cooked, very reasonable and really delicious). And even though it was fully booked it was quiet and felt secluded and peaceful. It was exactly what I wanted, and was incredible value. I would definitely go back.
The beach is set on an inlet, and at low tide it isn't really swimmable (Koh Phangan is very tidal, so this will depend on when you visit - while I was there high tide was at night). That said there is a small pool, and the beach is very clean and well kept. There are plenty of sun loungers, hammocks and beach bean bags - and the sand is soft and white! In truth you likely will spend more time exploring the island's many beaches, so I only spent one morning at the beach at Angkana Bungalows. Worth noting that the tide affects almost all the island's beaches.

Spotless property and bungalow, cool refresing salt water pool, very friendly and helpful staff, cold fresh water on tap for patrons, close to the action in townbut far enough away to feel peaceful and quiet with a lovely ocean view if you in a sea view bungalow
Originally booked into a garden view bungalow at the back of the property, it was very hot at the back bungalows with no sea breeze. However still lovely and clean and well appointed. Managment moved us to a front sea/beach bungalow the next day at a small additional daily cost

Nice friendly welcome and nice rooms which are peaceful and just what was needed
Not much of a beach as such though easy to get around island on a motorbike and find others.

Quiet place, well-kept surroundings including sun beds, beautiful view, close to Nai Wok Pier.
Very weak lighting, to get light from outside you have to open the curtain and then there is no privacy. There is one small mirror in the shower. Small shower with a very weak water flow and lukewarm water, there is no door to the toilet and shower so there is no privacy. In general, the room is not very nice and new. The level of maintenance is not particularly high.
