I like the boutique vibes of the place and there are lots of break out sitting areas etc to be social and also to have some time out. People seemed friendly enough and they looked like they had a little community going. I was only there one night.
I think my room was full of long stay backpackers. It's fine but I didn't know where to put my bag, there weren't enough lockers and they had their belongings - clothing, food bags etc over all areas of the room. I had to put my bag on the floor in front of them and kept some things on my bed. They were nice but it felt like I was intruding on their home. One of the staff at reception appeared a bit aloof and couldn't answer basic questions e.g. "how often does the ferry go to magnetic island?". "What time does the supermarket close?". The bathrooms could do with a little upgrade e.g. lockable doors.

The location is great as you can walk to many restaurants and the supermarket. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
It was disappointing that some of the other guests didn't think the noise rules applied to them and continued making quite a bit of noise into the early hours of the morning.
