The building is from the 15th century and it retains a lot of period features. It feels like stepping back in time (in a nice way).
The room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Despite being on the ground floor next to a busy square, by 10pm it was dark and peaceful and we slept well.
The breakfast area was in a room at the back and it felt very cosy.
The lady who prepared the breakfast and the gentlemen on reception were both very personable and courteous.
I’d stay here again.

Fantastic location right in the heart of Montepulciano’s old town, next to the Piazza. The staff were lovely and very welcoming — Bruno checked us in and gave us some great recommendations. The lady looking after breakfast was also absolutely great, she couldn’t do enough to improve our experience. After we asked to move rooms, we were upgraded to a truly lovely room with a great view, which was quiet and much more comfortable.
Our first room was directly on the square and therefore quite noisy. More concerning were the terracotta-tiled steps up to the toilet and two extremely low door frames. My husband hit his head very hard on one of the door frames and suffered what we believe was a significant concussion, and also caught his toe on the step, causing a cut that bled heavily. We appreciate that accidents happen, but we felt the layout of the room presented some genuine safety issues.

It’s just like the photos, a real unique stay in a palazzo. The room and the living room were both large with so many decorations and details. The staff were very lovely. The breakfast was very good: both help yourself yoghurt, cakes, biscuits and bread and freshly prepared cooked breakfast to order.
