One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at, amazing breakfast and great location!

By far one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! Great facilities and perfect location, AMAZING breakfast and really good (free!!) yoga classes. Free surf boards also provided. The 4bed dorm was a good size, the open air bathroom is a very nice feature! Comfortable bed with charging plugs and reading lights conveniently located. Friendly staff. First night the AC in our room wasn’t working but this was addressed fast by the staff. The hostel is located less than one min from the beach and the restaurant/bar street, but the area remains quiet (only noise I heard was from the nearby outdoor gym that I think did HIT classes in the morning).

a beautiful location, 2 minutes form the becah, with lovely rooms and fabulous breakfasts

Breakfasts were outstanding and staff were extremely helpful and friendly

The dogs barking at night were a bit noisy

Overall great stay ,place has a lovely atmosphere.

Great location 100metres from the beach, lovely pool and fantastic breakfast.Charlie the manager was very helpful and gave us tips on what to do and see.

Would have been nice to be able to get food at the hotel in the evening.

Great location for beach and resturaunt access. Amazing breakfast. Room was comfortable. Managers organised transfer for us to next destination.

The outdoor bathroom was very humid and felt very damp. Overpriced as facilities were quite basic in comparison to other places we stayed for much cheaper. Worth noting that Ubers don’t pick up from there .

Very good

Great hotel with wonderful breakfast. Really enjoyed also free for quesrs morning yogas and location right next to beach was convenient. Rooms with open air bathrooms were stylish and nice.

Facilities could be maintained properly. Yard and outdoors are not maintained daily and bathrooms were growing fungus under the shower floor grid.

SALT House is an amazing place to stay in Hiriketiya - great rooms, wonderful yoga sessions, central location, amazing staff, good coffee. Would definitely stay here again!

Book it! You won't regret it

Location is perfect near the beach, staff was kind and extremely helpful, breakfast was delicious (best one we have had during our three week trip) and room was spacious and comfortable. Their garden and pool area is super beautiful and cozy.

lovely but overpriced

top location in Hiri, the room was big and comfortable and the staff amazing.

I think it’s a bit overpriced compare to the current status of the building. Definitely some furniture needs to be replaced and some small work needs to be done to keep up with the room price that is offered now. It would be nice to have also more variety for breakfast (for instance replacing one of the options with a more traditional Sri Lankan one).

Nice place, great yoga

We loved the yoga (Charlie was amazing), the healthy breakfast and the location close to the beach.

The place could use a little make-over since it is a bit worn out. The room was fine, However quite dark - and we booked a room with a courtyard which we did not really use since it was not very cozy and there was a noisy ventilator. overall the place was nice but a bit overprized.

* Good quality yoga classes * Community hang out area * Location, close to beach * Good breakfast and coffee! * Excellent staff * Outdoor bathroom is gorgeous

* Surfboards are free to take, but are pretty worn out. I would rent boards at the beach.. * room entry via outside of the ‘camp’

Lovely place in a great location, with wonderful staff.

Food was great. Kids loved the pool, and the chocolate brownies. We have a lovely 'family' meal together when a lock down was put in place. We really had a lovely stay and will definitely go back.

Really nice atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. The dorm has the perfect size for 4 people.

I really liked the room. The dorm was for 4 people and we all had enough space. The half-open bathroom was also really spacious.

Great spot, great food and loved the yoga!

lovely spacious room, great food and drinks! Complimentary yoga in the mornings was great and use of the surf boards was also offered! I regret not trying them out! The property is in a great location, right near the beach.

The pool was very small, more of a kids pool but who needs a pool when you’re so close to such a beautiful beach!

great comfortable home base to explore hiriketiya and nearby beaches with high quality food.

great vibes, amazing food, friendly and welcoming staff, location, great yoga classes in the morning. with the different evenings they provide an overall great experience. oh and the resident peacock. the included breakfast is by far the best we’ve come across in our travels.

Breakfast often quite disorganised and took quite long time. also had a number of items on bill which were not mine but were taken off by manager no probs

A nice place to stay on Hiriketiya.

The staff is very nice, especially the manager Sanka. The beach is just minutes away and it is quite charming. The breakfast and the restaurant overall is good.

We had a room on a ground floor (with a hammock) and the toilet was not nice. It had mold and ants and was scary to sit at. Maybe we wouldn’t have this issue with the room on upper level.
