Although I didn’t get to make the most of it, the location is perfect, directly opposite a shopping centre with various restaurants. It is also next to an NCP multi story which the hotel discount 25% for the duration of your stay as long as you provide your registration upon check in. Compared with many other UK towns and cities the base price of £15 for 24 hours (discounted to £11.25) is very reasonable. The carpark was well lit when I returned from the racecourse at midnight to check in.
There is a 24/7 bar, which sadly I didn’t take advantage of as I collapsed in a heap after a long day and a week of sleep deprivation and never made it back downstairs. On arrival I think the night manager could see I was completely exhausted and offered to move check-out from 11 to midday without prompting. I proceeded to wake up at midday and rush a shower without any angry knocking or telephone calls from reception. I checked out at 12:30 and there were only smiles from the hotel staff and offers to organise food and drink for my homeward journey. Very friendly staff !
I asked for a double bed and ended up with two singles. I don’t think the hotel seemed particularly full so I would imagine a double could have been accommodated. I ended up with an accessible room and the first of the two single beds I climbed was rather concave and I felt like the mattress was swallowing me. I switched and the other one was perfect so perhaps some attention to the state of mattresses would be worthwhile.
The room also smelt of smoke.
In the bathroom the toilet and sink were clean but some very dark whiskers would appear to have been wiped all over the wall above head height, so a bit of attention to detail might not go amiss particularly on white tiles.

Close to shops, restaurants and parking near by. Safe! We walked around at night just females and it was safe! Great staff brilliant service and friendly.

Good location
Poor value for money. Small room with no fridge or refreshments. Would definitely have expected more for my money.
