Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa

I want to preface this review by stating that my wife and I have stayed at hotels across 4 continents, from one night stays to luxury 5 star resort holidays, and Horizon has been one of our best experiences. Ms Paulla at reception took care of us from the moment we arrived, ensuring we had the right room and friendliest service, whilst Ms Sherry in guest relations greeted us every morning with our preferred coffee and provided wonderful personal interaction throughout our stay; these ladies deserve so much credit for our experience, including arranging a truly memorable birthday for me... Miss Yaya was a wonderful housekeeper who ensured our room was clean and serviced every morning while we went to breakfast - and the breakfast was fabulous, with a large selection of both Western and Asian choices, and the egg station Chef delivered our tasty choices to the table each morning... The Pools, and there are a few, were always sparkling clean and the Pool Bar was a fun and friendly place to hang out in the afternoon, while the afternoon tea and cakes in the Library, where you can also borrow books, was a lovely touch - my wife had a relaxing Massage treatment at the spa, and even the Security guard was great, as on one rainy day he carried an umbrella to walk my wife back to our room... Food quality was excellent, better than most outside restaurants at a very reasonable price, and there is a Live Band in the evening playing music to accompany dinner... we even got an invite to the annual staff Party, which was lots of fun, and being able to get to know the staff in a more casual atmosphere gave us a genuine insight to the friendliness and warmth of the Thai people... Overall, the hotel grounds and facilities, the excellent WiFi - video conferencing was great, the bathtub in the room, and our view (watching the birds in the morning), the professional staff, and the value for money was 10/10. Thank you to everyone who made our stay exceptional.

Beautiful place, the hotel is Magic. Two huge great pools.. was amazing. The personal is very kind and helpfull. Was a very nice stay

The location was great, not far from the beach at all. Pool was decent on the upper levels, the lower level pool was neglected. Friendly staff.

The power in our room shorted out so we had no power in the room, they took a long time work on it so we ended up switching rooms (I had to ask for this) and we had to carry all our open luggage down a floor when they said they had an open room right next door. They tried to comp us a private pass to a lounge that was only open after we checked out the next day. This was just more of an inconvenience than anything. The electrical technician was banging on things to try and get it to work.
