Staff have been friendly, available and supportive
Unfortunately the location is not very good, being adjacent to a busy road with constant traffic. The hotel seems to have had a more illustrious past, however nowadays the premises are getting older and in need of maintenance. We were initially offered a room so small that there were about 20cm between the bed and the desk, so that no chair would fit the space and the desk was not usable being without chair. The room was also in need of repair as per attached pictures, which I attach for illustration. Luckily the staff was supportive when we asked for another room and transferred us to one in better conditions: this really helped our stay. There is an outside garden with a good area, but due to traffic noise, pollution and several mosquitos we did not really use it. We’ve been charged extra for the parking on the hotel premises, which feels just a way to reduce the headline room rate, and the parking charge was not small. Similarly, the charge for the extra cleaning related to our dog was above the average we have seen in our travelling in comparable structures. I cannot say the value for money was good.
