The location was exceptional. You couldn’t ask for a better place
The stairs were a bit of a trick and coming and going early and late was challenging but doable

Staying here felt a bit like being two boarding-school girls arriving at our shared accommodation for the first time! We had a twin room on the top floor, with beautiful, 100-year-old furniture that really added to the character and atmosphere. It’s certainly not a modern, polished hotel — but that’s exactly what made it fun and memorable.
The location is perfect for stepping straight out into the Old Town and enjoying everything Gdańsk has to offer. Despite being right in the middle of it all, our room was reasonably quiet at night. Breakfast, served at the café next door, was plentiful and tasty.
And, of course, the beautiful historic architecture all around you is a huge bonus. For one night in Gdańsk, it was great value and a genuinely atmospheric place to stay.
The tiny brass plaque saying **Dom Schumannów** is very easy to miss. At first glance, the entrance almost looks like a little tourist knick-knack shop rather than a hotel! It’s not really a bad thing, but it certainly wasn’t obvious that we had found the right place, so a clearer sign would have helped.
Overall, we loved the quirky, historic atmosphere and the unbeatable location. A memorable one-night stay right in the heart of Gdańsk.

The location was very good for walking around the city. The hotel was charming with old fashioned furniture, like you would find at your grandmother’s house. The hotel was dripping with old world charm.
The rooms are small, so the beds were very small. Also there is a very loud bar in the basement of the building. This bar attracts obnoxious young people. So you will here lots of shouting and glass breaking.

This is a difficult place to rate. The staff were lovely, the place traditional, a large room, lovely squishy pillows, clean, BUT...
People said the location is excellent. No, it is central. Too central. From late morning until the early hours, there is noise. Not just low voices or people walking, but terrible street musicians/entertainers who compete in volume and bad taste, plus drunks late/early.
