Mostly good but one very bad dining experience has put us off returning.
A nice welcome by all the staff who were friendly & obliging. Great location by white sandy beach in a peaceful, natural, garden setting kept immaculate by the gardening staff in spite of the windy weather. None of the hype & noise of some bigger resorts. Though not on the beachfront we had a nice view of the sea from our unit. Very comfortable beds.
The decor was dark & poor lighting in the unit made it feel gloomy on cloudy, rainy days, it was difficult to see well enough to read. Resorted to using the bedside light or the phone torch. Sadly, our enjoyable stay at this resort was spoilt the Saturday night we became invisible. There's no excuse for keeping diners waiting almost 2 hours for their main meal of the day. For the couple at a nearby table it was an even longer wait and like us they felt insulted to be ignored for so long after placing an order. We, they, were assured several times our meals were coming but they didn't arrive until most of the other diners had been attended to by which time we were very hungry and upset. My meal was disappointing after such a long wait and we left the dining room feeling resentful and annoyed. Management has to take responsibility for this in not providing extra staff for planned events. In this case a visiting sports group buffet & a special Island Dinner were planned which obviously required extra kitchen & waiting staff. It appears by ordering from the normal men we had to wait & wait & wait. Usually, our meals arrived within half an hour or so.

Very good
The pool villa was awesome. The food is delicious, and the staff was very cool and friendly. Resort is so quiet and secluded that you feel like in your own slice of heaven.
Breakfast is continental, meaning fruit, coffee, and cereal are on the table, but for toast, you have to wait sometimes too long. Put a toaster and fresh bread on the table as well, and problem solved.

A lovely place to rest and relax!
The staff - all so lovely and helpful; the accommodation and lobby/dining areas - all recently renovated, modern and stylish, but still Fijian in character.
"Fijian time" is good for relaxing and learning patience, but frustrating if too slow at meal time eg waiting half an hour BEFORE getting a menu; first meal turned up lukewarm and was overcooked fish (dry and chewy). Need more serving staff. Not enough vegetables - more used as a garnish. Electricity shorted the first 2 nights, losing air-conditioning, bathroom lights and hot water. They happily fixed it (properly the 2nd time), but would have been nice if they'd offered a discount, or similar, to compensate for not providing the full facilities I'd paid for (one third of my stay).

I will definitely return
Unfortunately, we had such bad weather when we stayed here. I can imagine on hot days this place is amazing but not alot to do (or suggestions given) for winter weather. We had a car so we drove to Sigatoka sand dunes and did a hike. Tui's kava session was the best I have ever been to in Fiji as he provided a summarised history of Fiji through storytelling. The other evening activities organised by Tui such as making Kokoda were great. The grounds are so lovely and the views from the beach bures are amazing.

I enjoyed River Tubing Fuji, South Sea Cruises, The crab shack and don’t miss the local guided tour of the village compl
This is the resort to come if your visiting Fiji. It is situated in a sweet spot between activities and not too far from the airport. I staying in a beautiful ocean view bungalow. Bathrooms have been renovated and mattresses have been replaced I know as I saw them doing it to all rooms while I stayed here. They are the comfy ones too! I will suggest getting a local SIM at the airport as wifi in resort is being upgraded so only available on foyer at the moment. If mobility is a challenge request a room closer to the reception as I was located in furthest room as it’s a big of a hike across grass and sand. If your after a quite and relaxed place to stay with very friendly staff. This is the place to come. Bula Bula
On-site restaurant is very nice. Due to staffing you can wait a little longer for food when busy. I would suggest for staff are needed when guest number increase as have 1 person to take orders, make drinks and serve food isn’t enough.

A great little hideaway.
Adults only, but some of the adults didn't seem to realize that meant it wasn't clothes optional.
My fare was a long way from the facilities, which was both good and difficult. Wifi was by commercial allocation and all allocated by the time I got there, and not available for three days. But local cellular ok, either at the beach or by the road. In my room, it didn't work. The shower and bathroom floor sloped towards the door and bedroom, so occasionally the bedroom floor was wet and slippery from escaped water. A rolled towel dam fixed it, but that seemed a bit unnecessary.

Holiday base.
Located on the Coral Coast, it is pretty central to many tours around the island. Sigatoka has plenty to offer as well, making Tambua Sands a great place to base yourself from. Rooms were comfortable enough without being overly fancy. It is a great place for couples wanting to explore the island without the need for a fancy resort lifestyle.
The reef itself is not as good as the islands, and there was a very strong current running. Weak swimmers will need to use caution. Snacks and ice creams are very expensive. Lighting inside the room was not particularly good.

Comfy enough, but on the whole it’s a little unappealing, especially for the price!
This is in a lovely location with great snorkeling. Most the staff were fantastic. The beds are comfy and showers are great so it ticks the vitals!
It appeared to have lost its charm! Ugly bright painted furniture in dining area, totally devoid of charm and no umbrellas on deck outside. They seem to be painting everything- even the pretty bridge and deck was painted light green! Apparently new managers so would hate to see it in a year when they’ve finished their makeover!
