Bedarra Beach Inn

Loved the staff and lovely pool area.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the food is very good. I particularly liked that this is a smaller hotel rather than one of the larger resort-style properties, which gives it a more relaxed feel. There is also a local bus stop just outside the hotel, making it easy to get into town, or it’s about a 15-minute taxi ride. I was informed that all of the water from taps at the hotel is filtered, which saves using plastic bottles.

Things didn't get off to a good start. The airport pick-up I had arranged did not arrive, which was particularly disappointing as I had informed the hotel in advance that I currently have a physical disability. I ended up having to take a taxi from the airport and was subsequently told that reception had neglected to inform their driver about the pick-up. As a result of the taxi no-show, I arrived over an hour later than expected and the restaurant was about to close. I was exhausted and asked if I could have room service, only to be told that this would cost an additional $10. It felt very unwelcoming, to say the least. Also be aware that even if you book a room with a balcony, you may initially be given a ground-floor room without one.

Nice location to beach access. Area to sit at the beach side and relax.
