An absolutely perfect 10/10 stay! This Machiya villa is the best way to experience Kyoto. It offers a stunning blend of authentic traditional design (beautiful dark wood, tatami rooms, a private garden) and modern, spotless comfort. It's incredibly spacious, situated in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood, and perfectly located-just a short, easy walk to Shijo and Omiya stations for quick access to all major attractions like Arashiyama and Gion. Highly, highly recommend this unique and luxurious accommodation.
Recommendation for the host: Please provide clearer, detailed instructions (e.g., a map with pin) for the nearest coin parking. We found the parking process slightly confusing upon arrival, which was the only minor hiccup in an otherwise flawless stay.

great price, good value, had the whole place to ourselves so we had a lot of room, great for groups of friends
nobody greeted us, one of the beds was broken and just left like that, a bit of a moldy smell in one of the bedrooms

The location is very close to station. The house is big in size. Kitchen provided a 2-slice toaster.
The host never answered a question. One of the toilet ran out of tissue but extra ones were put to another room (i realized after i stuck in toilet). I asked the host where were the big drying rack and tissue but she never replied. I found out the drying rack maybe just the small ones and only a few hangers in the house….meaning, we can’t wash bigger size clothes like T-shirt. There was a broken bed caused that bedroom inconvenient to move around. Not enough hand wash. Some utensils were dirty.

Near the convenience stores.
The stairs has no hand rail. Too scary to go up or down. The slippers were filthy and old.
