Beautiful ryokan! Has the perfect balance between tradition Japanese style house and modern twist. The private onsen was amazing, the washing machine in the house was so convenient and easy to use (with the help of Google translate) multiple bathrooms, and ampule of space. The small kitchenette with a fridge also included. I would recommend this place to any traveller. Theres nothing to complain about.

A good hotel can truly elevate the quality of a trip, and this hotel did exactly that. The room was much more spacious than I expected, and the hotel itself was excellent overall. It definitely enhanced my travel experience.
However, I unfortunately did not receive much help from the staff. During this trip, I had an unexpected car issue and ended up checking in later than planned. Staff members are available only until 9 PM, and after that there is no one on-site. I arrived around 9:10 PM and wanted to contact someone for assistance, but it was extremely difficult to reach anyone.
After waiting for more than 30 minutes, I was finally connected to an AI support system. I was disappointed when I was told that my room number had already been provided in the check-in information link. Since the room numbers are written in kanji rather than numbers, it may be difficult for guests from countries unfamiliar with kanji to find their rooms easily.
After a long and exhausting journey in the heat, it was frustrating not being able to speak with a real person. I was simply told, rather coldly, that the room information was already included in the link I had received earlier.
Please be careful to complete the check-in process in advance. Otherwise, you may find yourself in a very difficult situation late at night.

If you are looking for a luxurious, private ryokan-style experience with modern tech, book Rojiyu Kyoto immediately. The two-story villa is spotless, beautifully designed, and remarkably quiet.
Having a kitchenette was incredibly convenient, and the in-unit washer/dryer was an absolute lifesaver for our travels! To top it all off, soaking in our own private outdoor open-air bath was unforgettable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. A perfect 10/10 stay!

If you are looking for an affordable Ryokan style hotel I couldn’t recommend this place enough! The open air tub was much needed after lots of walking, the space was huge by Japanese hotel room standards, close to a train station 1 stop from the Nishiki market/Pontocho Alley area, and extremely professional and helpful staff! Everything was excellent, we also had the Japanese breakfast one morning which was an experience. It was like a 2 story apartment, great amenities (loved the Dyson hair dryer, usually hotel hair dryers are not very good), comfy bed, very clean. Would definitely stay again!
