Loved:
1) The attention and care of the staff, especially the front desk & the cleaning staff! We had some issues with the heating & cooling with our room and the cleaning staff on our floor helped us resolved it before the maintenance team showed up.
2) The view was absolutely incredible. We opted to upgrade our room and had a direct view of lujiazui & the bund. It was breath taking and just absolutely phenomenal. We enjoyed watching the view every night :).
Improvements:
1) Overall building maintenance: For such a relatively high end hotel, the maintenance was pretty poor. Our hotel room carpet floor was stained and dirty (big patches all over). I was very surprised that no investments were made into wet vacuuming the gunk away from the carpet. We didn’t feel comfortable in the room without slippers & couldn’t let our toddler play on the floor. The shades were also broken and I could see that someone taped over the damaged areas. The stone counters were stained. A lot of the wood veneers on the doors were coming off. The millwork was also a bit dated & certain doors were coming off the hinges. The shower pressure was poor for one head but super strong for another.
2) The hotel may want to consider temporarily child proofing the rooms if a guest is staying with a child. There were a lot of sharp corners that we had to protect with thick towels.
3) The hotel breakfast was really bad. Everything was dry & overcooked. We signed up for breakfast everyday and then opted out after the first day. It’s also heavily western and offered very little Chinese options. The coffee was awful! It was so sour and burnt :(. We were very disappointed.

The room had an amazing view, and what made our stay even more wonderful was the complimentary upgrade to a suite to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday! The hotel also kindly provided a birthday cake and beautiful room decorations, which made the occasion extra special. We were very satisfied with the overall service. The front desk staff were especially helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We truly appreciated their thoughtful arrangements and excellent hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable stay!

The view of the river from the room is wonderful, as promised. The room is very comfortable and facilities are well maintained. The bathroom and spa bath is extremely nice.
Tried to communicate with the hotel staff to help with restaurant booking but was unable to get helpful tips and ended up going to the nearby mall without any reservations, after a long day of flying into shanghai.
