Close to shopping
The couch was stained and the bathroom needed a repair on the inside door trim. The bed light by the bathroom has a short need the switch.

Easy walk 10 min to bus BSI and Trex bus terminal.
They let us do washing and spin it all dry after trekking.
Was able to leave luggage with them.
Kitchen was good to cook in - supplied oil and spices, but could get crowded as is a kitchen for a household rather than a multi room guest house.
Dining room is large and a good space.
They do demand type pricing to room rate went quite high even for Iceland.
They supply cereal and milk and jams and spreads but no bread or butter.

So glad I booked at Eric the Red Guesthouse. Hosts were so kind and accommodating. I booked last minute and arrived late and needed to do laundry since I just came from hiking the Laugavegur. Nik went above and beyond in letting me use the laundry at night, and he was very friendly, giving me recommendations for my trip. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the location is superb and walkable both to the bus terminal and main tourist areas in Reykjavik. I highly recommend to all!
