Friendly staff, willing to accommodate little things I needed such as luggage storage. Good blend of relaxed rules and structure. Also the rooms are semi modern with good facilities, plugs everywhere and all those little things. Showers were warm too, always a bonus. The free breakfast is pretty standard but certainly does the job. I didn't really interact socially (i was tired) but seemed like a good vibe going too.

The breakfast. It’s up there- 10 months in South America and this is the best breakfast. Ample amount and great varied options. Amazing.
Convenient for the subway
I had mail delivered whilst there, communication before getting to the hostel was good and after I left more mail came that I returned for.
Beds are solid 3 tier so no wobbling when others are getting in to theirs.

Always someone going to party. They party in the hostel until 10-11 and then they tended to go out and I got to sleep!
Smoking in the communal area - outside space. But some guy smoked at the table at breakfast. Specify smoking area away from others would be better. Even if restriction only at breakfast.

I didn't find the location very good... I always felt unsafe in the zone (it was honestly a deal breaker for me). I was in Leblon the week before and I felt much safer.
The bathroom wasn't very tidy, always flooded.
The vibe of the hostel didn't match 100% mine, but it's a personal opinion.
