the room size was very good, bathroom good, very good location to town and beach, nice views of harbor
it wasn't really a full hotel. It was a room on the 8th floor of a building so no hotel amenities, very different experience

The staff were absolutely lovely. They arranged an early check-in for us and were incredibly accommodating, helpful and generous with local recommendations. Had it not been for them, our rating would have been considerably lower. They are definitely the shining star of this accommodation.
The room was clean and perfectly acceptable for the price, and the view was fantastic. However, there was a rather strange and quite strong smell in the room. We couldn't tell whether it was cleaning products or laundry detergent, but it was quite sharp and unpleasant. We were also missing a light by one of the beds, but this was easily solved by simply moving one of the other lamps.
A definite plus was having a refrigerator and kettle in the room, along with coffee and tea.
Unfortunately, what lowered our overall impression even more was the smell throughout the entire building. It was a very peculiar combination of stale cigarette smoke and what seemed like damp or mould. Even though the room itself was clean, the smell was difficult to ignore.
The restaurant on the ground floor was excellent, with a really good breakfast and very friendly staff. They definitely helped improve the overall experience, although we understand that the restaurant and accommodation are not affiliated with each other.
Overall, a mixed experience. The wonderful staff were a real highlight, but the persistent smell throughout the building is something that really needs to be addressed.
