Staff was very friendly and happy, quickly helping me with anything I asked. Location was great and the room is quite spacious.

The room was spotless, really really clean, and a little more spacious than expected. Staff were so helpful. Coin laundry is just 200 yen and the staff sell laundry detergent for 50 yen. Rental bicycles were also appreciate.
Overall, having stayed in a few Kyoto cheap places - this guest house is cheaper and better than most of them.
Slow and unreliable internet. You have a choice of multiple room WiFis to connect to but many don't work or are too slow - I had to tether from my phone to work at my laptop.
The mattress was uncomfortable - uneven and sank too much. I slept the other end of the end to manage.
