We stayed here for our last night in Sri Lanka before catching our flight back to the UK. It was a perfect place for us to stay and we were looked after so well by the staff. We had excellent communication with them from the point of booking to arrival and we really appreciated that they organised our transport to the airport for us. It made everything really easy for us.
We arrived after a long day travelling from the east coast and the welcome was lovely. We received welcome drinks which we really appreciated and we were able to cool off in the gorgeous pool before a walk down to see the beach and to fit in some last minute souvenir shopping! The hotel location is excellent. It is really close to the beach and shops and the area felt very safe.
I'm not sure if the photos on booking.com are fully up to date as the pool area has recently been refurbished and is actually much more lovely than the photos give credit. I will include some below. It is a lovely pool!!
We were so impressed by the thought that has gone into the design and decoration of the hotel. It is really so beautiful. So much detail and care has gone into it. Nearly every corner is hand painted with beautiful Sri Lankan art work. The ceilings, the doors, the furniture. It is really beautiful. We absolutely loved that. I have included a photo of the ceiling in our room!
We dined at their own restaurant 'The Tusk' which we highly recommend. The food and service was absolutely excellent, and the restaurant is beautiful. It is so gorgeous. They will look after you so well. We had a really lovely last evening here. We were sorry we couldn't stay another night and explore Negombo a bit more.
Istuti to the team at Blue Elephant for making our last evening in Sri Lanka really special for us.

Large room, pool, the decor was traditional Sri Lankan, polite staff, good location, clean
Staff should tell guests where the mosquito net is when they check in. We arrived late and didn’t realise there was one, when we mentioned at check out they said it is in wardrobe.

Suprisingly good, fantastic restaurant and pool area. Quiet area in the city, could easily have stayed a day longer.
Negumbo beach is not as good as the other beaches we were at in Sri Lanka. The only place where we saw plastic trash at the beach.

Great location, fantastic staff, reasonable prices for alcohol. Restaurant area really nicely decorated with Sri Lankan art and rustic wooden furniture.
Rooms were a bit tired, bed was hard. Open slatted window in bathroom allowed mosquitoes in. (Yes I accept there was some kind of pop up net in the wardrobe). We mistakenly thought breakfast was included but it was not and the charge of 3000/- we felt was a little excessive for what we had. However the next morning when leaving early to the airport the night manager was trying to give us a packed up breakfast 🤷♀️. Tea and coffee supplies were negligible and the room was not cleaned or made up in the morning. We just felt overall the cost was more than the hotel was worth.
