Located in Misquamicut, this attractive house for $450 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Waterfront home with a spectacular view on a 1+ acre lot with a large, manicured lawn and a private foot dock to one of Rhode Island’s famous salt ponds. Ponder, as we fondly refer to it, has a wonderful enclosed porch overlooking Winnapaug Pond with expansive ocean views. Located within minutes of the Misquamicut and Watch Hill BEACHES (dunes pass to the Misquamicut State Beaches included with rental for all peak-season weeks), with easy access to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, and fantastic dining in Westerly, Watch Hill, Stonington, Mystic, and elsewhere. Just 35 minutes to Newport. There is a public golf course, the Winnapaug Golf Club, located within walking distance, and multiple public tennis courts can be found in the area. The house has a large living room that opens to the enclosed porch and a combined kitchen/dining room that overlooks the pond. Four bedrooms: • Upstairs master bedroom with king and en suite bathroom • Second upstairs bedroom with single bed • Downstairs room with two single beds (that can be made into a king bed) • Downstairs room with full sized bed Two full baths, one with a shower and one with a bath/shower, and one half bath. Easily accessible from the Westerly Amtrak station and T F Green Airport in Providence, and just a few minutes from the Westerly State Airport, which provides daily flights to Block Island. Dock is not safe to stand on, dive off of, or fish from. Trees and bushes need trimming, house needs paint. Lots of mosquitos

It was the perfect spot for our vacation get away. It is close to beaches and grocery stores. The house provided everything needed and comfortable sleeping quarters. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

This property was just what we needed to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the wedding activities we were involved in. The quiet pond, watching all the various birds, whether on the lawn or indoors, was such a respite. The house had all the modern amenities while also keeping the charm of this 1925 circa home. Our host was very accommodating with our needs, we'd stay again, thank you.

We so enjoyed our stay at this family cottage on the water.
We were 3 couples in the area for the Rhythm and Roots Festival. It was a convenient 13 minutes away. I feel like we were staying in my grandmother's summer home! bathrooms were updated and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could imagine. If we go again next year we hope to rent this cottage again. Thank you Fred!

This is a wonderful old Weekapaug house. Roomy, nothing fancy, lovely view and owner leaves the house totally stocked from him using it a lot. Will be back next year.

My husband, 8 yo son, and I had a great stay. The pass to Dunes Beach was an amazing bonus. Comfortable beds. Love the enclosed porch for relaxing with a magazine and enjoying the view of the pond. Older property, but very clean.

Our family had an excellent time at this property. As a heads up the bay the house is on is relatively deep so you'll need to bring a canoe or kayak if you intend to do some shell fishing, wading out is not really an option. Once out on the water we quickly found some of the most fruitful shell fishing I've ever experienced around the nearby islands. The clamming and sunset canoe cruises we took will definitely be some of my fondest memories of the year.
The view from the house is great as it looks, on a clear day you can see the wind turbines on block island 20 miles away. The main TV having a gamecube with 4 functioning wavebird controllers was also a treat, nothing like relaxing with a game of Mario party with the kids after a long beach day. All in all we had a great week and we hope we can do it again next year.

The property was as described in the listing. A great location for what we wanted close to Winnapaug golf course (less than 2 minutes). And close to all the beaches as well. Plenty to do in Westerly even on a ran day whether that’s shopping in Watch Hill or bowling at Ally Katz in downtown.

Beds were clean and super-comfortable. Lots of room to spread out and just relax. Very responsive communication from the owners and their wonderful cleaning crew! I look forward to coming back again.

Needs better maintenance
The house is sprawling, with lots of room for our party of five during our week there. But it is somewhat run-down, and needs better maintenance and cleaning. Lots of little issues, such as a corroded kettle, dirty kitchen drawers, dirty bathroom cabinets, what looks like mold in the master bedroom closet. Spiders and ants in the kitchen and dining area. The beach pass was expired. Beautiful view of Winnapaug Pond. But the deck is "mucky," as Fred told us, so the pond is not really accessible from the house.

Lovely visit
We had a great time in Westerly relaxing at Ponder, eating at Matunuck Oyster Bar, dinner at Weekapaug Inn and sightseeing around the marshes and salt pond.
Ponder has a spectacular view of the salt pond and was very clean and well equipped when we arrived.
We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area -

Pondering at Ponder
Our guests enjoyed the views and the comfort of the home. They did have some difficulty with the wifi but were able to use their phones. We could tell that the landscapers had not been by to pick up the twigs and small branches after the recent storm, but that did not detract from the overall impression and enjoyment of their stay.

Tranquility
This is our third time renting this property. It’s peaceful, private, and beautiful. The house gives you a feel of calm as you enter. The pond is a great meditative focus with wonderful kayaking. Great yard with a huge maple to hide under and front yard to play wiffleball in. We hope to return next year.

Girls Getaway!
Older property with character, backing to a salt pond was a comfortable home for the 5 of us! We spent 99%of our time in the enclosed porch/sunroom. Having a beach pass was a bonus! Thank you!

We enjoyed our entire stay! The house had absolutely everything we could ever need. The view is breathtaking! We will definitely book again in the future.

Comfortable, roomy, with a view of the salt pond
We all enjoyed our time there. We could spread out in the house but also enjoy the view. Room to do a puzzle or to watch a baseball game. We even managed to get two kayaks down the stairs to the dock and into the water for a trip around the pond.
