About this cottage rental

Situated in Comox, this charming cottage for $138 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Imagine having the Pacific Ocean on your doorstep, a private yard shouldered by large fir trees, where you can enjoy the ocean from the living room couch, the sofa on the covered veranda, or sit at the edge of the property and watch all the action Mother Nature and the ocean brings: …amazing sunsets…sunrises…eagles…herons…seals, etc.. Adventure onto the sand during a lower tide and venture out onto the rocky shellfish reef for fresh oysters & clams. Or just wander along water's edge as the tide moves in and out feeling the restorative benefits of nature in all its splendor. Winter time is a special time at the beach where major storms can arrive on a moments notice, with driving wind, sometimes rain, and often waves where a new occurrence has recently been taking place – some of the locals have taken up surfing. After every storm the beach always goes through dramatic change. Heavy lines of seaweed often embrace the shoreline. New driftwood comes ashore, and the sandy reefs shift yet again. No question with all these continuous changes, Kye Bay is a beautiful ocean paradise with plenty to explore and witness. The cottage is bright and cheery and is fully equipped with a queen bed in the bedroom, and a full ensuite bath/shower . The living room has a queen sofa bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots & pans. It has high speed wifi, +700MBS. Music. It has a SONOS music system and the best way to access it is to download the Sonos2 App, onto your phone, https://www.sonos.com/en-ca/controller-app. There are two Sonos speakers, one in the bedroom and one in the living room that the Sonos app is configured with so you can connect directly to Spotify giving you an abundance of music choices. Other music options: in the bedroom there is a Bose system, the on/off switch is on the back of the woofer on the right side night table, and the control for plugging in and volume control is also on the right side night table. In the living room, the big speaker in the corner is blue tooth friendly as well as can be run via a patch cord to your phone. It has a wood burning stove to create that cozy ambiance, luring you into opening up your favourite book, while cuddled up in an authentic Alpacha blanket. It's the perfect moment to unwind. If you're interested in doing some exploring or other adventures, there is fantastic mountain biking in Cumberland, plus it’s a pretty cool little town to explore with a few cottage brewerys and interesting restaurants too. If you want to try out kite surfing or wind surfing, Goose Spit gets some amazing winds - you might even see some kite surfers here at Kye Bay too when the wind comes up. There's also an Airforce Museum that you can explore. If you heart is into cross country, snow shoeing or downhill skiing check out Mtn Washington about 40 minutes away – it gets more snow than the mountains on the mainland generally. Getting to Kye Bay, Comox? There are a few options: Air: Comox International Airport via Westjet, Air Canada, Swoop, Pacific Coastal Sea: BC Ferries - Duke Point or Departure Bay Arrival Land: 1 1/2 hour drive north of Nanaimo, and a 3 hour drive north of Victoria. My husband have rented many lovely houses on beautiful properties, but Tidal Tranquility will now be the standard by which we rate our future travel stays. Upon entering the front door, we felt a deep spiritual connection, headed directly for the chairs by the beach before unpacking. You really cannot refer to this place as a property or beachfront cabin, because it has the sense of a home that calls to your heart. Brad is a wonderful communicator, and from the start of our booking process reached out to answer our every question and concern. We recognize good karma came together to secure our stay. Brad has placed so many little extras in this home that you do not ordinarily find in a VRBO rental. We entertained friends while on the island, I appreciated linen placemats and napkins, beautiful stoneware and serving dishes, decorated paper napkins, a fully stocked kitchen, Lodge cast iron!!!, and parchment paper!! He even had Epsom salts on hand in the bathroom closet. It is always those personal touches that set a good rental apart from a special one. Even though we chose not to use the amazing sound system, burn a log in the fireplace, or light the tea lights Brad has provided his guests with many options to enhance your stay at Tidal Tranquility. The covered veranda was a place of heaven when rain prevented us from being outside. Our trip to Comox was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We highly recommend a stay here. You will find healing and peace.

The place was so quaint and beautiful and clean, and had everything we could ever possibly need, including a beach right on our back doorstep. The host was super accommodating and reliable. We had our beautiful getaway in the hot weather, and there was never any heat in the house or backyard because it’s shaded by the trees and you get the ocean breeze coming in the doorway every day -just beautiful and therapeutic and we will recommend everyone to go stay there. It’s a beach house in such a lovely bay with our own private airshow with the Canadian snowbirds every morning while they were training very special.
