We booked for one night on our journey to Scotland 5th to the 6th Sept, the accommodation, bar area, and outside beer garden were exceptional. We had an evening meal in the bar area as we had our dog Alfie with us and the food was great very tasy and large portions. Service was great especially evie who served us breakfast ,which was the best we've had in a long time ,and kept us going all day .
There wasn't anything we didn't like it was a great experience. Food and service excellent.

Good wholesome food with large portions and at a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic views across the garden to the hills.
Told on arrival that shower not working but we still had the bath. Probably not a good option for everyone.

Nice view from rooms. Good amount of space.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Larger room had emergency lighting inside the room that could not be switched off and kept us awake.
Restaurant had a very, very long dinner menu (means nothing is "fresh"). Food was ok. Portions of rice and potatoes were extremely large.
In addition most of the items we tried to order for dinner for our second night were unavailable, including steak, beef, salmon and sticky toffee pudding which was disappointing. Some dishes were enjoyed by some: prawns, balsamic chicken and cheesy garlic bread.
For breakfast the full English was very good. Kippers were ok and pancakes were way too sweet.

Friendly professional staff. Good sized bedroom and bathroom.
Bathroom door handle very stiff and difficult to open from inside and outside. No thermostat on bathroom radiator so didn't heat up. Food at dinner and breakfast average - all eggs at breakfast overcooked whether fried, poached or scrambled.
