Very good stay, hotel could do with a better amenities.

Room was very nice with a sea view and a lovely patio. Breakfast was good. Staff was good. The hotel (van) chauffeurs are excellent.

Linens /Bedding was not great considering the hotel. There should be a better ambiance /perhaps music in the hotel bar. Restaurant dinner food was fair and expensive , could have had simpler fresh local pasta.

I’d recommend it

amazing ocean view, friendly staff, lovely interior design and colors, gives a lot of vacay vibes. They offer free shuttle bus which operates every other 30mins to the city center makes everything very convenient.

It could be better if there were different choices of buffets breakfast, because it’s all the same every single day.

Probably the best view in Amalfi Very good breakfast with lots of variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Small rooms. No conditioner in the shower. No wash cloth provided. Showers were not designed well and water would always spill onto the bathroom floor(there was no step or door to the shower!) which was a very slick tile and super slippery. Dinner menu only had a few good dishes and service was slow/understaffed.

Fantastic stay with amazing views, would definitely return and recommend.

Our room on the 6th floor was recently renovated and spotlessly clean. The room was large as was the bathroom which was refurbished to a high standard with large walk in rain shower. The view from our room and anywhere from the hotel was breathtaking. Breakfasts had a good choice and eggs could be ordered. There is a shuttle bus which runs to Amalfi/the beach and back regularly and the booking is easy either via the in room iPad or the website if your out and about. The private beach is definitely worth spending the day at, we had a lovely lunch and drinks and food are served to you. The pool is also lovely with great views. Dinner in the hotel was fantastic, we only planned to eat there once but it was so good we ate there twice, and you can’t beat the view from the restaurant especially as the sun goes down. The staff were all really friendly and helpful.

The only improvement I would make is a full length mirror in the room, and when ordering eggs at Breakfast a bit of a delay to allow time to have a bit of the continental first.

The staff is well trained, and they care about the guests. If I had a hotel, I would hire them all, the front desk personnel, and the drivers; there are all amazing and breakfast staff too.

Stunning views looking down on Amalfi and the sea from every floor of the hotel. Our beautiful room and balcony were just lovely. The shuttle to and from the hotel was very helpful and the staff were all very accommodating. The restaurant was also very good for both breakfast and dinner.

One of the best vacations thanks to the hotel and stuff !

We loved everything about our stay at Grand Hotel Exelsior ! We booked a fully renovated room on the six floor with balcony and an incredible sea and mountains view. ( Six floor freshly renovated ) For us comfortable ,large room and modern sparkling clean bathroom are priority ! I’m not sure about rooms that’s on the other floors but I think they will be updated gradually. This hotel is the best choice if you are staying in Amalfi for relax . The pool , the beach , restaurant , bar ,breakfast ,shuttle , service are exceptional !And the view here is absolutely unbeaten !!! Already recommended Grand Hotel Exelsior to my friends who are planning their vacation to Amalfi coast .

Best views of Amalfi

Wonderful views, delicious food, great staff, convenient shuttle service, and comfortable rooms. They seem to be doing some facilities upgrades, which is good.

This was fine for us, but know that it will take time to shuttle to and from Amalfi center and the shuttle can get fully booked, so just plan ahead!

Magnificent location, lovely staff.

We loved the food, it was excellent. The location was ideal as we liked the views from our room and there was a very efficient shuttle service down into Amalfi Town.

With regard to our room, my wife didnt like that there was no full length mirror or indeed a magnified mirror in the bathroom. We had issues with the aircon too as the room was very cold. The staff did try to help though but didn't fix it.

Very nice stay at this hotel.

We just got back last weekend. I loved everyone at the hotel. The staff are like family. Breakfast was at your table before you ordered it. My son is very fussy so the staff and the chef really tried to meet with his expectations. Most dinner we had at the hotel, they were very nice and well prepared. Always brought stuff to our table with fresh flowers in it. I want to go back next week. Oh my God, the view is gorgeous. The hotel is older but kept very well and clean. Everywhere was very clean. We all enjoyed it.

we had an amazing stay at the hotel . bfast was also good …. very comfortable and nice stay

location of the property is amazing … hotel is really nice and clean !!!! beautiful property !!! The manager Mr. Lorenzo was very helpful. The coach driver Mr. Mauratzio was very kind and courteous

didn’t have an electric kettle in the room, did not have a porter service at 4.30 A.M. when we left the property.

we were in Amalfi for a special wedding and you made it more memorable

The hotel has an immediate old fashion feel to it but that is not criticism. it takes you back to when hotels had their own individual charm. Facilities were great but it is run with such understated efficiency- the staff all know exactly what they are doing and do so wanting to please. I have stayed in hotels all round the world- corporately and privately and think this is my current favourite.

Incredible food, drinks, food, communal areas, gorgeous!

Room wasn't as luxurious as we'd hoped, bit sparse too. The coach return from Amalfi was a good idea but 1 of the 2 nights there was a horrible queue/argument to get on as it was way oversubscribed :( we left with a couple to get a taxi (€€) and this really tarnished it for us. Wish you'd used the large coach for the last pick up.

Great staff. Wonderful view. Good beach via free shuttle. Half the rooms fully updated. Reliable shuttle every hour to town. Good breakfasf.

Some of the dinner specials not that good. Main menu better. Coffee in room would have been nice.

I will never stay in this hotel again, it was awful front desk service and the rooms are disgusting.

The breakfast service was great, as well as the pool.

I booked this hotel in May. While checking in, they had no record of my booking and simply "lost it". We checked in with another family member who had a separate booking, and we all booked on the same day and they had their booking. I asked if this was a problem and they said not at all. After they said everything was good, our family members went to their room (newly renovated, better space) and we went to ours. Our room looked like it hadn't been used in months and was at the very end of a hallway. The lights had cobwebs, the room smelled so musty, the electrical outlets didn't work, and the bathroom bad black mold on the walls. I complained to the front desk and they said they had no other rooms available and because it was evening, he wasn't a manager and a manager would deal with it in the morning. The morning came and no one contacted us, the morning person said the manager wasn't in yet but we had a day tour booked. I said I would like someone to deal with this and especially by the time I get back. I got back and nothing was done. I complained again and at this point it was the evening and we were leaving early the next morning. The lady at front desk said she will speak to the owner that lives on the property. I said I don't think it's fair that I pay the same price as our family members and they have a brand new room and we got a room for the same price and it looks like that? By the time the morning came and it was time to check out, all I was offered was 100 euros off. I was so shocked at the lack of customer service and how a hotel like this deals with their customers. I was never offered an apology AT ALL and was always made to feel like I did something wrong in the process. I have stayed at MANY hotels around the world, and I will never ever stay here again. I wouldn't have even stayed here the second night but being in the Amalfi Coast in the summer, everything else around was booked or insanely expensive so...
