Great facilities, friendly staff and lovely breakfast

Really enjoyed the facilities. We were only there for one night visiting a friend in the area and we will definitely come by again for the pools and sauna! The staff was also super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the breakfast too.

Not much we were unhappy about! The WiFi wasn't great but that's it.

Glad I discovered this hotel; it is very convenient for my visits to Chester and I'm sure I'll visit

Off road parking; professional and pleasant staff; comfortable room; nice hotel atmosphere; good breakfast choices; excellent wi-fi.

Didn't enjoy the cooked breakfast as much as I hoped but service was excellent and there were plenty of other food options which were fine.

Christmas Market hotel treat.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean, warm and homely. Excellent value for money. Food great and lots of choice. 10 minutes walk to Chester town centre.

Nothing not to like. We've stayed here 4 times now and will definitely stay again.

Very welcoming and comfortable

This lovely hotel is old school in all the best ways, cozy, friendly and homey, run/staffed by a very gracious group of people who take care of you really well. Welcoming, with a very nice bar and restaurant, the food is good, the rooms are clean, it is in a lovely area. I would go back. Thank you

After being delayed for hours by storm Babet I was able to firstly phone through to the hotel and explain I had arrived

Lot of stairs to climb to our room. Hot water not working in morning ,think it was because we were at hope of house and everyone wanting hot water

A welcome oasis

Lovely room great bathroom. Luckily the room had a fan as during our stay the weather was hot. The hosts provided us with bottles of ice cold water on arrival which was very welcome.

Parking was iffy. On street if you couldn't get in the car park. Space at a premium when a large 4x4 took up more room.

The breakfast was amazing, so much choice! 😁, The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the bathroom lovely and clean too. Also loved the fact there were two fans in the wardrobe for if you get too hot and a trouser press as well. The reception area is lovely with plenty of seating to chill near the bar, and the garden outside is beautiful to sit out in on a sunny day.

Traditional hotel in quiet part of Chester

The staff was really nice and the food was real food. It's on a quiet street with not much traffic. It felt safe.

The furniture were old and not in a great condition.

Excellent hotel with parking for visiting Chester and local area.

Superb breakfast, parking on site, very friendly and helpful staff. Walkable to town centre but very close to a bus stop. Evening meal available.

Cosy and welcoming. Very helpful staff. Nice room. Easy to find parking within 50 m of the hotel.

Could feel the springs in the the mattress in my back. Still an OK bed, though. Toilet wouldn’t flush all the toilet paper = each time you used it more an more paper would be left in the bowl.

Friendly, comfortable, clean family run hotel very convenient for Chester City Centre.

The hotel is within walking distance of Chester City Centre and the bus stop for Chester Zoo. The room was clean and spacious and the showers etc worked well. The four poster bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate in quantity and quality - we especially liked the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. The coffee was excellent. This is a friendly, family run hotel and the service was excellent. The price was reasonable. We would certainly recommend to others and stay there again ourselves.

Due to fire regulations, one of the doors on the way to our room opened in a way that my partner, who is visually impaired, found challenging. However, the proprietress was most understanding and helpful and showed her a way to our room which avoided this issue. The siting of the offending door and how it opened are mandated by fire regulations and so are not the hotel's fault. But the hotel went the extra mile to overcome an issue not of their making to our satisfaction.

Nice little hotel for the price though nothing really close so need get taxis out or drive

Comfortable beds. Parking decent. Good breakfast

Restaurant closed on Sundays and bar not open until 7. Ended up having to get taxi into town to eat
