About this house rental
Located in South Haven, this lovely house for $396 per night is a great option for your next trip. Extensive renovations and restorations over the last 20 years at 222 Brockway Avenue capture the feel of relaxation and fun for your stay in South Haven! Our long driveway will accommodate four or five vehicles. Street parking is also available for two vehicles, April-November 1. Our 4 bedroom, 2 full bath, air conditioning, and washer/dryer cottage is located 600 ft. from Lake Michigan drive (North Shore Drive) and a 15-minute walk to the 50+ Historic Downtown South Haven shops. The cottage is just under a mile from the drawbridge in downtown South Haven. There are six public beaches on the North Side of South Haven. Our closest public beach is located at Oak Street and North Shore Drive. This is a five-minute walk from our house. You can see this when mapping our address. We have a quiet neighborhood, which should make your stay a pleasant one. Please look at the photos of our renovated cottage! Walk north for an hour on the beach or browse the town with its unique shops and restaurants. The cottage is located on the exclusive north side of town, less than a mile from Downtown South Haven. First floor bedrooms: white bedroom = twin trundle and queen bed, TV/DVD/ROKU yellow bedroom = queen bed pink bedroom = bunk bed with twin on top and full-on bottom New Master Bath in 2015! Barrier-free shower, jet tub, and ADA toilet. Lower level bedroom: green bedroom = full futon and queen bed, TV/DVD/ROKU Bathroom renovation in 2017! Bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. The cottage has a 70' flat screen television in the living room, cable and wireless wifi, air conditioning, an electronic fireplace, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and double oven. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances, pots and pans, dishes, and everything you need to make a wonderful meal. The only thing you need to add is your own food. We provide garbage bags, kitchen towels, paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, bathroom towels, sheets, and other bedding. Queen and full beds have four pillows. Twin beds have two pillows. We also have lots of beach toys and child life jackets for your use. The kitchen seats 13 people. We also have a patio area in the backyard, a gas grill, and a small fire pit.

My family and I stayed at the cottage along with a few other family members to celebrate my mother in law’s 60th birthday. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. The cottage is not far from all of the things that South Haven has to offer!! Thank you for a great weekend!

Had an overall positive experience, even if the weather didn’t cooperate with us! Was a little bit of construction on the road but not a huge deal. Home was as advertised with plenty of space for all. Host was extremely communicative and thorough. Enjoyed our stay!

Super well-equipped with just about anything you could imagine needing for kitchen and for young children. A short, pleasant walk to the beach. Katherine checked in to make sure that our stay was going well.

If you read the various reviews, you eill get a good picture of this rental. So I won't repeat them. The number of beds for the price and location are great. And plenty of seating in dining and living rooms was plenty for all. (I have found this is not the case in all rentals.)
The owner was very responsive to requests and questions we had. The information given for our preparation was super helpful.
We guessed the cottage is about 100 years old but all the important things, kitchen, bathrooms and electrical are totally modern. You notice the old in the tiny closets, odd vents and creaky floors. The floors created a bit of consternation for us as it was impossible to move around quietly in the kitchen in order not to disturb the family with baby downstairs. And, the kitchen island lights reflect brightly through the opening at top of stairs.
I only add these things for those to whom it would make a difference. The array of beach gear, kitchen items and games makes it a great choice if you will be flying and limited in what you bring.

We had 6 friends come out for board games and breweries. The check in process was seamless. Our hostess was very communicative leading up to our stay. The kitchen was fully furnished with all the necessary pots, pans, utensils and appliances. Great location, 7 minutes from Meijer and Walmart. At least 8 breweries within 20 minutes. Awesome place, would highly recommend.

I came with my family to visit the tulips in Holland and explore a few of the smaller towns along Lake Michigan. Great location to do all that, in either direction! The cottage was clean and spacious. We had everything we needed, and then some. Katherine even offered us to come a night early, as the cleaning crew was finished. Will definitely be back if we want to stay in South Haven again. We had a great time.

Listed beach in walking distance. Should mention that beach is only around 30 yards wide and is between private beaches on either side. When busy there is limited space. Suggest using car and traveling a couple of miles to North Beach. It has restrooms and concessions along with volleyball nets. Fantastic beach with lots of room

We had the best time in South Haven! The weather was perfect, the lake was magical, and Happy Ours housed our two families of 3 and 6 very comfortably! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, plenty of towels and toilet paper, clean, organized, and homey. Lots of games, beach chairs, umbrella, and more! Location is excellent. Short walk to the beach and into town too, and a quick drive to Meijer which has literally everything. You can’t go wrong with this house!

As usual, this house was perfect for our needs. Lots of space to lounge inside and out. A MORE than perfectly equipped kitchen for our nightly feasts. A quick walk to Oak Street Beach—keeping our trip easy and relaxed, with no need to “plan and pack for” a day at the beach. We walked back at our lesiure.

Our family had a wonderful time visiting the South Haven area. It was our first time and felt lucky to have found Happy Ours Cottage to stay in. We had plenty of room for everyone in our family to spread out and have their own space, plus the short walk to the beach and downtown were perfect! We walked around the neighborhood in the early mornings and neighbors were friendly. Only negative (for me) was the kitchen has an open decorative window over the stairs which means that even if you close the door going downstairs you hear everything going on upstairs. My plans to leave the baby downstairs with a monitor while I hung out upstairs with everyone else just wasn’t possible with the echo/all the noise.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Southhaven house. It was a short walk to many beautiful lake Michigan beaches. All of the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The backyard was cute for grilling and relaxing after being out all day. . The bathrooms were very nicely remodeled, The kitchen had plenty of room and places to sit. The living room was very comfortable. The owner was quick to reply and very helpful regarding any questions that we had. We would love to come back again if we have the opportunity!

This was our first time staying on north side of SH and Happy Ours Cottage was terrific. beautiful property, comfortable and convenient with the added bonus of high end appliances and lovely updated décor. Great cottage for us to share between 3 families with kids. Roomy, outfitted, and stocked kitchen to prepare meals for a large group and sit down to dine inside. Large game collection was appreciated along with large screen Internet connected TV with DVD collection.
Beach toys and wagon available to be put to use at beach 3 blocks away.
Quiet neighborhood without much traffic and great connections north & east for road biking.
Small but nice backyard to relax outdoors (umbrella for shade for seating for a round table) and for kids to play in. Plenty of seating for folks to hangout outside on the patio or lawn.

My brother and sisters and I were very pleasantly surprised at how nicely this cottage fit our needs. In particular we were excited about how well the kitchen was supplied, and the bathroom was as nice a one as I have ever encountered in a vacation home. It was close enough to quite a few beaches... we ended up using the Packard Park beach as the Oak Street beach was terribly crowded, probably due to the high water in the lake. Our group could comfortably sit in the living room, and the extra table in the dining room/kitchen was perfect for us to do a puzzle on. This is obviously a well-loved, homey cottage, and we enjoyed our stay.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Happy Ours Cottage. The large up-to-date kitchen was filled with pots, pans, and cooking supplies. There was plenty of seating for our group of 10+ people. We loved the large screen televisions in several rooms, as well as the DVDs and games available. The newly renovated bathrooms were very nice as well. The main floor bedrooms were a little cramped for our group. Also, we could have used one more bathroom since we had quite a few adult females all wanting to use the main floor bathroom. The downstairs bathroom was accessible only by going through the bedroom area. Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating.

This house is on a lovely, tree-lined, quiet street a few blocks from the sandy beaches of South Haven; older kids can easily walk back and forth on their own as the streets are not busy. Very nice that owners offer the use of their wagon to transport little ones or all the beach accessories. Kitchen had every appliance and item we needed for our simple meals and then some. Bring some wood (or purchase at local gas station) to enjoy s'mores around the fire pit. Our group had a fabulous time!
