Situated in Brandon, this charming house for $149 per night is a great option for your next trip. No Pets please, Sandy is highly allergic. This is a Private secluded romantic Lake front property that is spacious, airy, and well lit from skylights. Owners are away during your stay. It is 3 minutes from I-75 and 6 minutes from I-4. Centrally located in Brandon, yet hidden away from it all. The mall is 2 minutes away and every restaurant you can possibly imagine is within just a couple minutes. The peacefulness of the Lake and the birdlife that goes with it is priceless if you are looking to get away from it all. This is the place for you. Please contact us about availability. Due to the risk of Alligators in the Lake, NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12. Please be advised, there is a $25 fee per night for each additional guest over 4 guests. Additional bedding and linens will be provided for extra guests. House Rules: A recent party at the property has caused us to install surveillance devices on the perimeter of the property to monitor ingress and egress. These devices are for security purposes only. Once you book the property, we will provide you with additional information.

Upscale updated older property. Gray property manager. Awesome view of the lake from living room window, screened in front porch and front bedroom. Good wi-fi let us stream movies. Grill in back and seating area was nice. No complaints!

What a peaceful retreat in the midst of the city! Loved sitting at the picnic table on the lake under the old trees in the back yard, at the same time being right there for errands and shopping. Dining options are abundant and all minutes away.
The rental is the guest part of a larger house, but the owners aren’t there when you rent it. The only other neighboring house was only occasionally checked on shortly by older people. Also, there’s an apartment complex very close but not directly noticeable. Video surveillance of entrance and driveway added to our feeling safe, but backyard and lakefront were completely private.
Given its location, we heard the occasional muscle car, fire truck and a train line, but the sounds actually faded into a background concert of civilization that even underlined the remarkable peacefulness of this place.
Managers are great and super-nice. In terms of cleanliness, the place was absolutely impeccable.
All you need to know is summed up in an informative guest folder. House rules are totally natural, and knowing what damage stuff can do to a pumping system, we totally understand why it’s not only stated in the kitchen but also where it matters.
Mentioning these things also since we wanted to clarify what caught our eyes in the other reviews. We can only recommend this place wholeheartedly - many thanks for sharing your house! This place is truly a gem, and a well-kept island of Old Florida within the growing urbanity around.

Our three days staying here before leaving on our cruise was a true joy. It is a quiet and peaceful spot in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city you would never know was there unless you were looking for it. The property was exactly as described and we would not hesitate to stay again on our next trip to the Tampa area.

My girlfriend and I were taking my 80 year old grandmother on a day trip. When we arrived after a 3 hour car ride, we realized there was no code given to access the lockbox and we all had to pee! The host finally called us back after 10 minutes and told us the owner wants him to “meet everyone” before giving access to the house - guess if he doesn’t “approve” of you he can turn you away!? We waited 25 minutes for him to show up, it was 85 degrees, and again, we all had to pee.
Turns out there was a key just hanging in an electrical box right there the whole time - it wasn’t even in the lockbox! He said that the lockbox was for his wife’s key!? There was no reason for my grandmother to wait outside in the heat!
He proceeded to give us a “grand tour” of the home, and read to us the list of rules POSTED IN THE KITCHEN. I felt very untrusted and watched from the moment we arrived. All we wanted to do was decompress and get our vacation started. We rushed him out the door and left because we wanted to get dinner.
We returned at 10:30 pm and realized the host never handed the key to me, it was still sitting wherever he put it down in the house. We tried calling over and over and got NO ANSWER until the next morning! He stressed to us at least 5 times to “please call if we needed anything”, but apparently he turns his phone off at 9. I don’t think that 10:30 pm on a holiday weekend is a very unreasonable time to call. If someone is renting your property maybe keep your phone on!?
I ended up making a small slit in the screen door on the back porch to get in. Thankfully the back door was unlocked.
After we finally got in after AN HOUR of sitting outside in the dark we realized there was NO RUNNING WATER!! We couldn’t even shower or brush our teeth! There wasn’t even a bottle of water to drink!
The host finally texted me at 7 am saying that “people lock themselves out all the time” and he forgot to turn the water pump on!? I wouldn’t have used the shower anyway because the shower head was covered in red mold! He was so thorough with everything else but FORGOT TO TURN THE WATER ON!? Absolutely mind-blown.
As a property manager myself, I don’t EVER have my phone turned off and I certainly wouldn’t leave an elderly woman sit outside in the heat.
He offered me a heavy discount on a future stay and later charged me $90 for the screen. Never mentioned that fee while I was there, so I could have fixed it myself for $10.

This is a lovely 2 bedroom and 1.5 bath guesthouse in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood of Brandon. The house sits on a small lake that encourages birds and other wildlife to have their fun. It was a great stay. Property management was very responsive and good to work with.

This property is well kept and very clean with large windows to view the beautiful lake. There is a screened-in porch with comfortable chairs to enjoy morning coffee, or you can sit outside at the picnic table or on provided lawn chairs. It is a relaxing spot to return to after a busy day in the area. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils. We would stay here again.

Wanted a nice and secluded place. It was perfect. The house is nice. The air conditioner only goes down to 72 so it is sometimes too hot in the house. Otherwise perfect.

This property is so beautiful… Peaceful lake, lovely porch breeze, wonderful privacy, beautiful Banyan tree with elegant Spanish moss. We felt like we were staying at a southern plantation. Excellent home, squeaky clean, comfortable, and relaxing. A 5+ all the way!

This property gives you the option to make 2 payments, the problem was 10 days before my final payment was due I started receiving messages telling me I had to make a payment. They came from someone named Kathleen (maybe the owner) who I had never spoken to. In the listing it stated Tom & Sandy were the hosts. The payment arrangement was made by the property managers, not me. I felt like I was being treated like a deadbeat.
There were post-it notes around the house stating different rules that we were already made aware of. I'm not a child and we respect people's property. To get to this property you have to drive through an apartment complex, one night while driving through the complex we saw 10 or 12 teens shooting fireworks at the buildings and at cars. The next day when we arrived at the property after dinner and found a car with 4 young people in it sitting in the driveway. The vehicle had Texas plates, later that day I saw the same car at one of the apartments. Overall we had a great time, the fishing in the lake was good and the house was beautiful. The issues I mentioned were minor, I highly recommend this property, Tom and Sandy were great, very professional!
If they lose the notes and let the hosts do their job, I would love to stay again.

Traveled from Atlanta Georgia to spend the weekend for a Graduation party. As busy as a Party and Memorial Day weekend was; it was a wonder to drive to the guest house for quiet, calm and clean serenity. Comfortable everywhere! Wish more properties were like this. Definate revisit

Private yet close to everything
This guest house was perfect for our work trip. As other reviews have noted, you pass through an apartment complex to get to the house and you're near all kinds of stores and major roads, yet when you're at the house it's like your own little slice of heaven. We ended up with more time to ourselves than we thought we'd have on this trip so our last day we spent hours sitting on the back porch watching the lake & wildlife (didn't spot any alligators but saw many birds and a friendly racoon). Would definitely return!!

The house was a super cute and exactly as described! It’s very deceiving driving in and you don’t think that you will have much privacy. Once you turn down the driveway it’s a completely different story. If your local enough to bring your fishing pole, do it! We brought ours and caught a couple bass from the edge of the lake. The house was very clean when we got there and they had everything you would need. The house would be perfect for a fire pit, but unfortunately they don’t have one LOL
We did have a problem with the air conditioner the second day we were there. It took about eight hours total to have it fixed from when I notify the manager that it wasn’t working. Communication with the manager in regards to this issue wasn’t the greatest but I’m just happy that the air conditioner was fixed. It was very hot!
All in all, a great property and we will definitely be staying again!
