Great central location in old town near shops and restaurants, right on the main night market street.
Wear and tear in the rooms, some mould and humidity issues, cleanliness could have been better.

This hotel is centrally located in Hanoi Old Quarter. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving plenty of advice on places to eat nearby, things to see in North Vietnam, the best ways to book trips (their advice was to use a travel agent, which was good advice), and more. I stayed there for seven nights, partly to see Hanoi and partly as a base in between trips to other areas of North Vietnam. They also found me a few nights to stay in between the aforementioned trips, during the busy holiday season. Highly recommended.
I stayed in three different rooms. The second one was less spacious (but again, I booked it at the last minute, during the holiday season). The first one was plenty spacious and the only thing I would like to see improved is the drainage from the shower--it sent a lot of water over the bathroom floor. I hope they can fix that. Other than these small things, it's a great place, with a lot of charm and wonderful staff.

Breakfast was very poor and sometimes looked as leftover from the previous day. The water in the toilet and sink was draining very poorly. The bathroom also needed renovation, the shower cubicle didn't have a second door.
Bed was very good, wide and clean, room did not had any smell. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
