Nestled in Como, this lovely house for $373 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Entering Maison Peltrera is like flying over Como. It is in fact a splendid apartment with garden, overlooking the lake and the roofs of the city. Through a staircase you will reach the promenade, with its bars and restaurants, the funicular to Brunate and the ferry to Bellagio. Be enchanted by the dome of the Duomo, the lights of the Volta Temple and Villa Olmo. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool at sunset. It '; s true: the staircase can be tiring, but it's worth it! he house consists of a very bright living room with a view of the lake and the Duomo, two large double bedrooms, a bathroom (with bidet and shower), a fully equipped kitchen (gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, kettle ), a panoramic terrace where you can eat admiring the Volta Temple and Villa Olmo, the garden where a small swimming pool (4m x 2 m) awaits you and the relaxation area in the green. The apartment is accessible only through a panoramic staircase: 100 steps from the street where you can park for free (300 steps from the lake front). A comfortable stairlift allows you to carry your luggage home. During Spring and Summer there is a swimming pool available for our guest 2x4 meters, ideal for children and for refreshing after a sunny walking day.

Our stay was for 5 days with my spouse and 3 sons (all 18+) and son-in-law. Property was big enough for 6 of us adults with a lot of beautiful windows for cooling down the apartment. It didn't help there was a major heat wave in Italy the time we were staying but the property mgr brought us an additional 2 fans to help as apt is without a/c. There was a pool on the property all to ourselves so that was a huge help after a long hot day of sight seeing and a great way to cool down. Most European homes & businesses do not have a/c so you cant be to afraid to sweat when visiting Italy, lol The only downside were the steps up to the apartment. You definitely need to be in moderate shape to walk up these everyday if not a couple times a day if needed. It was hard with all our luggage but we managed just fine. We always slept with windows open at night as it usually cools down at night. We rented 2 little cars for 2 days for sightseeing & had no problems w/parking near the apt. The apt is located in walking distance to Como and the restaurants, shops & the ferry station. If you have never been to European cities keep in mind the businesses shut down for lunch/break times so plan accordingly when wanting to shop and etc. We would do things early & eat while the businesses close, restaurants stay open & then you can relax for lunch. Apt mgr was great w/communicating to us if we had any needs or questions. We would stay here again for sure.

Lovely place to be based to explore Como and the lake, as other have said quite a few steps up from town, so moderate fitness required. Would recommend.

A great apartment for an affordable summer stay in Como. The view was incredible and the place was very private with sufficient space for a family of 4 (and more). The only challenge was the walking distance to amenities and sites (or more accurately - the number of stairs to get back to the apartment from Como) - although it can be overcome.
