We loved everything about Kilmenny. We felt very well taken care of, from the warm welcome and tea when we arrived, to the incredibly well appointed rooms, to the delicious home made breakfasts we had. Margaret and Blair were kind, friendly and attentive to our needs. Our rooms had special items including luxury bath products, cookies, candy and whisky for sipping. The grounds were beautiful and the views amazing. Overall it was an incredible experience, by far the best place we stayed in our travels through Scotland.
That we had to leave so soon.

Everything about this property has been well thought out for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our trip and the warm welcome we received. Breakfast was made to order each morning and was delicious, not to mention many options to choose from. The hospitality was truly above and beyond anything we could have expected. Highly recommend Kilmeny for your trip to Islay!

Great place, excellent and lovely hosts, who helped me a lot since my luggage got delayed when I arrived so my first day in the island was only with my own clothes. Lovely ambient, great breakfast and the hosts are just the best people you can find. Beautiful fauna and flora around it, which makes for great walks to the main road.
It's a bit far away from the usual places you want to visit, which can be a good thing if you want to be a bit more insulated and are ok walking. It's not that bad honestly. The walk to the main road is only around 7 minutes, is a lovely palce and you'll bump sheep, cows, rabbits and pheasants on your way down, even being able to cut through beautiful forest. Even with rain, the path to the road is gravel, so there's no mud to slip on.

Margaret and her husband Blair were perfect hosts and made us very welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding and the best meals we had during our stay on Islay.
We arrived to lovely home baking and we enjoyed a later check out on our last day without any fuss.
It was a lovely working farm and family home as well as a great place for guests
Margaret was great at introducing everyone and stimulating conversations. It made for a really relaxed atmosphere.
