I had a great experience staying at Sakura Hostel Asakusa and would definitely recommend it.
The location was excellent. The hostel is in a very quiet area of Asakusa, just a few minutes’ walk from Sensō-ji Temple and Nakamise-dori, making it very convenient for exploring one of Tokyo’s most traditional neighborhoods. There are also several public transportation options within walking distance.
I stayed in an 8-bed shared room and had no issues at all during my stay. The bed was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable, with its own power outlet. The locker was also quite roomy, and there was additional space underneath the beds for luggage and other belongings.
The bathrooms and showers were spacious and always very clean. Toiletries such as shampoo and body soap were also provided, which was very convenient.
The hostel has an elevator and a café where you can also choose to have breakfast. Another feature I found particularly useful for international travelers was the currency exchange machine, which made it easy to exchange money whenever needed. There was also plenty of tourist information available about places to visit, local activities, and events happening around Tokyo.
They also offer luggage storage, which was very helpful in my case. After checking out, I needed somewhere to leave my luggage for a few hours, and the staff were able to keep it for me without any problem. It made my last few hours in the area much more convenient.
I would especially like to highlight the staff. Everyone I interacted with, from the reception staff to the housekeeping and service staff, was consistently kind, friendly, and willing to help.
A special thank you to Motoki Yoshikawa, who took the time to patiently explain which train lines and connections I needed to take to get to a festival I wanted to attend, as well as the easiest route so I wouldn’t get lost.

The hostel is located in the heart of Asakusa, very close to the temple and attractions. Close to the quiet and more local areas. Not too far from metro station, all over the location is absolute bonus of this place. Spacious kitchen and dinning area.
I requested a top bunk bed as I was staying in a mixed dorm and I was informed that the hostel accepted my request, however, upon arrival (a very long and delayed journey) I arrived at 1 AM and was allocated to the bottom bed, which the receptionist wasn't bothered about at all and also didn't pay much attention to help me with. All he said was we cannot do anything. Reception staff is not very helpful or welcoming, compering to other places I stayed at. That's definitely a minus, taking the hostel has loads of traveling people and it should feel friendly and welcoming. The place is extremely loud, although it was a time of some sort of celebrations, so maybe that's why. I asked for towel and because it was late I didn't have cash on me and I couldn't pay by card. I asked if could pay in the morning and was denied by the front desk with no empathy whatsoever.
