Beach great Apartment very simple

Location good all the rest poor. Totally overpriced

The property is nicely located just behind a nice stretch of beach, common areas are well maintained and pleasant, including the little pool. The apartments are functional and well kept. View form the ocean front apartments is amazing! In addition, the staff is super welcoming and helpful. There was a problem with AC in the apartment I’ve booked, they upgraded me to an ocean front unit. Definitely I’ll stay here again if I come back to Puerto Morelos!

Vela's is a lovely place and centrally located

Puerto Morales is a lovely little town with everything we needed - nice restaurants nearby, grocery store and a nice beach. We used Vela's bikes to get around one afternoon. The little plunge pool was nice in the shade. Sandra and Alba were so helpful when we booked our tour through Vela's. They made sure we got to the correct place and fixed a problem with payment too.

We had a nice apartment but the sofa was not comfortable to sit on and a coffee table is needed. The bed was comfortable. We didn't cook anything but took advantage of the full size refrigerator, blender and coffee maker.

The perfect location!

We booked the ocean view apartment and loved having the view of the ocean. It took a couple of minutes to walk into the sea from the apartment which was situated in the middle of the swimming zone. We saw rays and a variety of other fish while snorkelling in this section of the Beach. Snorkelling tours leave from close to the apartment to the coral reef which you can see from the apartment. The prefect location and just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Puerto Morelos. The staff were very helpful and happy to book tours with a 15% discount offered.

Great ocean view

Two bathrooms, great view, cooking ware items available, silverware,kitchen utensils also. Cleaning room service available at request, no extra charge.

Air-conditioning where only in the bedrooms, living room and kitchen shared a ceiling fan and these rooms were always hot! Lightning in the second bedroom was not working only a night stand lamp.

Great location for centre, beach and restaurants. Just a little tired looking inside.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the apartment is very good. very short walk to the centre of Porto Morelos. Also, lots of love restaurants and cafes very close by. The beach was lovely and so accessible from the back of the apartments.

Although the view was nice, the photos obviously didn't show the ugly building with prison-like barbed wire which spoils the view from the balcony. The furniture and fittings are all quite old and shabby. So not as nice as it looks in the pictures.

Great place, will be my first choice in PM again.

Outstanding location, 10 mins walk to anything you want or need, far enough to avoid the louder night spots. Girls at the front desk were incredibly helpful. "Ocean view" means absolutely wonderful view of the sunrise over the Caribbean every morning. Two direct walking paths to the beach, no shoes required. Kitchenwares are sufficient for simple meals, BYO oil and seasonings. AC units are great, was only using 1 of the 3.

Music from Paradise beach club next door is audible from 10a-7p, but never overwhelming or annoying. The room was a bit shabby and run-down compared to the pics, but clean and much more than acceptable. If you want a 5-star, pay for a 5-star.

Excellent beach access

The best part of the accommodation is the short walk to the beach! They also provide little beach charis and an umbrella free of charge. In your room there is a huge bottle of water for drinking provided.

There was a charge to use the bicycles, if they were free that would be an awesome way to get around.

Clean, modern and spacious apartment with friendly staff

super friendly and helpful staff. easy access to the beach just 50 meters away. clean, spacious and modern apartment with full fridge, stove and countertop. I loved the balcony also! quiet and safe location.

2 flights of stairs I had to climb with 2 heavy suitcases :( … staff were helpful but it’s only women working so not easy for us to carry :) location is a bit far from the downtown, would be nice to be just a few blocks closer.

Very disappointing. Noisy from beach bars behind. Not beachfront.

The condos are not oceanfront: the room looked out into a parking lot. The grounds, photos and interior looked nothing like the online description. Exterior gate was broken and left propped open all night. We were in a ground floor room and felt unsafe with windows open.

Lovely apartment right behind the beach

Lovely, well equipped apartment. Nice sized balcony with partial view of the ocean. Right behind the beach. Quiet location but only a few minutes walk to closest restaurant. Really great, friendly, helpful staff.

Seats on the balcony were not for lazing in, very upright and uncomfortable. Pool area is small and doesn’t get a whole lot of sun.

Pleasant

The staff is friendly and the location, both in town and close to the beach, is ideal. It is a short walk to shops, restaurants and nightlife.

There were multiple problems with our reservation. We booked 2 apartments, yet only 1 was actually reserved. Despite promises there would be 2 beds in the bedroom, just a few hours before checkin, we were told that would not be possible. The bikes are a nice idea, but someone needs to maintain them.

Definitely would stay again-access, cleanliness, support-the BEST!

The staff was AMAZING....Sandra at the front desk took care of everything. I could not rate the service any higher!! So accommodating, patient, and showed the property to us!

Great Place To Stay!

The location was great! The beach is right behind another building. Very spacious and clean. It's nice there was a small kitchen if you want to cook. We did make toast and tea and sat on the balcony. Both receptionist were friendly and helpful with suggestions of restaurants to try. We were happy they had new bikes to use, but we ended up walking everywhere. We would stay again!

We were disappointed to know housecleaning was supposed to come in. We only had one wash clothe for the first 2 days. The hubby went down to ask for one and the girl was surprised housecleaning had not been in. Not that we need our bed made etc., but if the service comes with the cost of the room, it would have been nice. This would not stop us from staying here again!

Great place to stay

Close to the beach. The condo was always cleaned daily. The service was outstanding. Pools were clean. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is a plus. Large refridgerator. Balcony is great to sit and drink coffee and have breakfast to view to sea. Beach chairs available. Mini library. Common area with BBQ for grilling.

Bicycles are available to rent which should be an amenity.

heavy smokers next door clogging up everyone’s air conditioning system. the hotel does not have a no smoking policy and seemed indifferent to intervene when multiple tenants were not only unable yo sit on balconies but use their A/C.

Nice modern apartment .

A lovely modern apartment close to the beach, restaurants and downtown, but quiet. The apartment was well equiped, and the staff were very pleasant.

There was occasional noise in the hallways, but generally brief.

Comfortable and clean

This year I was very happy with everything - comfort, cleanliness, freshness of pillows and sheets, and everything else; the condos seem to recently underwent some renovations. Apparently, not every flat has the third AC in the living room but 2 ACs in bedrooms are absolutely sufficient to keep the temperature very cool - given, that the doors to both bedrooms are kept open. And I must mention a great work of the cleaning crew and, especially, the head of staff and receptionist, Sandra Aime. I think she is the most helpful, courteous and efficient hospitality worker I've ever met. Velas Condos are very lucky to have Sandra.

Unfortunately, year after year the beach becomes worse and worse, and water murkier. Probably, as the result of the increasing sargassum bloom, despite titanic cleaning efforts.
