The location of the property is excellent and all rooms are waterfall facing. The housekeeping and restaurant staff is very courteous and serve food with utmost love and care.The lunch was a typical south Indian thali served on a banana leaf , dinner had fresh non veg and sea food speciality. Breakfast was decent.
However the rooms are old. I stayed in the suite and the flooring was broken and old. It had a jacuzzi but only 2 nozzles on one side of the jacuzzi were functional.
Property was not clean. There were ants and insects all over. Dining tables were full of ants which were moving on to our food plates and cutlery also. Dinner time was kept dark with just candle light so it was more sacry as we were not able to see these ants and insects.
None of the Internet service providers are effective in Athirapillay. And inspite this basic facilities like wifi was not there in the resort. Guests didnt had access to internet connectivity. Internet was only available at reception area. Rooms wifi was not working and the resort was not able to rectify wifi issue.
The resort is too expensive and does not give value for money at all. We paid almost 70K for 2 rooms but the resort was not even providing basic amenities. The manager Sobin was very strict in maintaining the check out time even though we had compromised our stay in all other above specified points. He even charged us for two small coffee ordered for our guest , although the waivers of such petty expenses would have covered for some of the negative points of the resort.
Manager Sobin need to learn nuances of hospitality industry and could have managed the situation well but he was a disaster which added to the guest experience going from bad to worse.
