The convenience of being located near everything. Had great views. The old character of the building with a slight modern twist.

Position was great. The Bar was really nice and the food was very good. Loved it!

Friendly staff and great location.
The room I was in was very noisy. It would help if they put double glazed windows on the rooms which are in the courtyard.

Honestly, everything was pretty much perfect, truly. But, the staff wins the show for The Grey hotel. We stayed for a week, and we were so looked after with warmth and friendliness, it was hard to leave the wonderful people we spent the week with. My husband and I worked remote for a week. TIP: If you do this, consider getting a room with the private balcony, you get a desk in there and it's easy to have private video calls for work, your all plugged in.
Our room was super comfortable, great hair dryer (if it's important to you, this is a small bonus). Lot's of places to plug in to charge phones, laptops.
The location is amazing, you are surrounded by wonderful restaurants with in a minute or two of walking, walking distance to the V&A, you can run (I felt safe, although perhaps it was naive, but I ran to the V&A then to the boardwalk in Seapoint so it's a great location if your a runner as well. Ubers were plentiful.
There is also a small shopping mall with several coffee places, a grocery store, a place to buy a SIM if you need it, an ATM.
There is even a very small pool on the roof, and as small as it is, I annoyed the staff by swimming back and forth for 45 minutes but I still got a wee swim in which was great.
We had coffee in the reception every-morning and the gentlemen serving breakfast and coffee were a joy to spend the morning with.
The neighborhood itself is sweet, on the edge of Bo Kaap, it does house many expensive houses that carry the colors of Bo Kaap but are homes to wealthy people so, it's feels safer (although, always be aware).
If I were to return, with out a doubt, I'd stay here over and over again.
leaving!

I loved the location and look and feel of The Grey Hotel. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel where you can enjoy some privacy as well as meet new people on the rooftop terrace. My room was under the Skybar which didn't disturb me. The staff was very kind and the manager of the hotel very approachable and friendly. The Greenpoint neighborhood is a definitive plus. You feel safe here and can discover your surroundings by foot. Nevertheless travelling alone as a female you should use uber / taxi to go further around in the city.
The bathroom door in my room was slightly broken and needs to be fixed. Other than that I was very happy with my stay.

Fantastic location and very helpful staff, in many ways. We enjoyed the rooftop as well, small and but cosy and relaxing.
The piano bar is a nice finish to a long day!
Our room did have some noise problems from outside. And some blinders or curtains would have made sleepy more comfortable

well maintained, perfectly located … unique
noise level and lack of blockout for windows, my unit faced the street, far too much light and noise to content with

Very good location and a very nice room.
Very rude staff especially at the front desk did not treat us well at all and it was awful. It made me not want to stay there again.

Rooms where comfortable. And had in them just enough space to move around. Facilities are clean. Hotel is well positioned. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Sky bar was understaffed for the amount of people, drinks took forever (30min).
No coffee facilities in the room.
Breakfast was disappointing. Pancakes tasted as if they had been precooked, frozen and defrosted, served cold and strawberries where overripe to the fact that they where bitter.

I liked that it was quiet, nice area

Bed side lights could do with a dimmer and shower water strangely long to get to the temperature you set it and there wasn’t any indication what side is hot. Neither horrible but small changes could really improve usability

Friendly staff, good location
I was not aware that the Sky Bar was seasonal. I didn’t see that stated anywhere while I was booking. The Sky Bar was one of the main reasons I chose The Grey Hotel so that was disappointing.
