Cozy hotel, good breakfast and restaurant, very friendly staff, walking distance from the main train station and other attractions, like the Opera house. Cleaning was impecable.

Helpful friendly staff on Reception and at breakfast. Room was spotless and well serviced. Excellent selection of good quality food at breakfast.
I hadn't realised the hotel was in the heart of the red light district with transactions and altercations only a few yards away, especially at night.

Breakfast was about what you’d expect from a city hotel buffet, lots of options for cereal bread meats cheeses salad and hot options. Friendly staff. Walkable to the train station, old town and shopping. Supermarket 5 mins away which helped to save $ on dinners!
The streets around the hotel are quite derelict. Loads of homeless, drug affected people with syringes, needles, broken glass and a lot of rubbish on the ground in the surrounding area. Even during the day this was very confronting and sad to see. I was only comfortable walking well after daylight had risen (9am) and was back at the hotel by 4 pm.
The hotel had no portable fans and the ac is turned off in winter (we visited in October).. my window didn’t open and the fan air from the inbuilt room unit wasn’t adequate so the room was very hot. They offered to move my room which was nice of them, it seems the 5th floor has this issue with lower floors having windows that do open.
