We spent two nights at Prevôt Restaurant & Hotel and absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and they really made us feel at home.
The location is hard to beat. The hotel sits right along the Rhine, just steps from Cologne’s Old Town and the Cathedral, and only about a five-minute walk from the main train station. It was the perfect location for exploring the city on foot while still being incredibly convenient for arriving and departing by train.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and wonderfully quiet, especially considering how centrally located the hotel is.
And the food deserves a special mention! We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared, and it was such a great way to start the day. The restaurant itself is stylish, warm, and inviting, with wonderful views and a great atmosphere.
Between the location, the food, the beautiful hotel, and especially the exceptional staff, Prevôt was one of the highlights of our time in Cologne. We would absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
Only thing I can think of was that there wasn’t a separate light for the toilet room.

It was fairly convenient location to the cathedral and restaurants. Breakfast was okay. The room was fairly spacious
There is no 24h reception. So if your keep stops working or you check in late there is no one there to help you and you are locked out of the building.

The location was perfect as it was only a few minutes walk to the cathedral and other sites/ shops. It was generally quiet in the room. Having aircon available was great due to the hot weather but there was an option to open the windows which we appreciated. Everything was clean and of a good standard. The staff were lovely and accommodating
The light in the corner of the room didn’t seem to work so in the evening it felt a bit dark in the room as there was no natural light coming in. At times the light bulb in the bathroom was flickering.

Fantastic location, 5 minute walk to the Cathedral, a further 3 minutes from there to the central train station. The hotel itself is set just back from the river frontage in the old town area of Cologne where there are charming town squares, lots of traditional bars and too many restaurants to choose from! It felt very safe to walk around even at night time. The staff at Hotel Prevot are wonderful! They all spoke great English and made every effort to make us feel welcome. Special thanks must go to Nadine who was so lovely to us every time we Spoke with her and made us feel like valued friends not just guests. The room itself was spacious with a lovely modern bathroom and the beds were very comfortable even the sofa bed our daughter slept on. The mini bar/fridge and coffee machine are nice little extras.
Just a couple of things to note, the staff seem to shut the bar/restaurant early if it is not busy which meant we were unable to enjoy an evening drink at the hotel after our days out. We returned most evenings around 9.30pm.
Also, there is no actual kettle or tea making facilities in the room just the coffee machine, probably only a downside for English visitors 😁
