We stayed two nights at Chiayi Crown Hotel while visiting Alishan Forest, and the location is excellent. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the main train station, which makes it very convenient for onward travel.
The hotel is also quite central, so you can easily explore parts of the city from there. Overall, we found it to be very good value for money.
The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms could use some updating. Also, early check-in was not possible, even though the rooms seemed to be ready – but we understand that this is quite common in Taiwan.
