Location, free and central parking, the towels, wifi. Nice Clean sheets Breakfast, (although we were not advised by reception and only discovered on asking,).

The lumpy pillows, not one english tv/news channel, mouldy shower curtain. The room and common areas were very tired and could have easily been improved at no expense with some TLC.

Super strategic location, walking distance from the harbour, right in the center of historical city of Portoferraio, and surrounded by many restaurants.

For some people the room might be too small or too simple, the small room have fan, and the bigger room portable air conditioning.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were a little concerned because of the reviews, but we had no choice, it was the only room available in Portoferraio at this time and our more expensive, highly rated, tiny, white boutique, B&B was booked. We had to move. Our room, at this hotel, was large with a high ceiling, a tiled floor and a large wooden window that opened to an excellent view of the piazza. The room had character - it was the real deal - made even more potent that the Wi-Fi password ended in 1941. We could have stayed here all summer - if only they had provided us with a kettle and refrigerator.

Weak WiFi. The room could have been cleaner especially the lamp hanging from the ceiling. We felt forced out in the morning so housekeeping could clean. The rusty chairs on the outside veranda needed cushions. The reception staff were not friendly.

The location is in the middle of the Old Town so walking to shopping, sites, ferry, beach and restaurants. The staff and family are very attentive and helpful. They helped book my return ferry with an amazing discount. The air conditioning is strong.

Double pane windows would help with the noise. The early check-out.

The location is in the real center of the beautiful Portoferraio, the parking in the nearby lot is free for hotel guests. It seems the only hotel in Portoferraio with two beds for instead a double bed!

The hotel has never been renewed in the last 20, 30 or even more years! The location is fine but the outside noise is not filtered out by contemporary windows. The breakfast is less than basic.
