This little slice of jungle paradise is so well designed to complement nature and attract wildlife. The trees and plants are a tranquil sight. We were so delighted to see a group of howler monkeys one morning feeding on the mango trees, so cool! Casa Rosada is really lovely. We enjoyed the comfortable air conditioned rooms and the huge, shaded outdoor dining area with hammocks. The pool was right outside our doorstep and was a welcome relief from the heat of summer. The staff was welcoming and the host Andrés had some great area beach recommendations. Playas Minas and Conchal are a short drive from this villa with easy parking. We really enjoyed our time here!
The villa is not very baby friendly. We had to watch our 1 yo like hawks to keep her away from the gaps in the railing and the steep steps to the pool.
The villa is a bit far from any shops and restaurants, so having a car is ideal.
The road to Villas la Paz can be very dusty in the summer with a lot of atv traffic creating low visibility. It's also important to be cautious of pedestrians and motorbikes, especially at night.

Away from it all. Easy walking distance to a quiet amazing beach. The pool was spotless, you had monkey business going on in the trees while at the pool. You had raccoons running past on the pathways, some kind of animal playing on your roof at night. It was the best.
There is nothing we didn’t like, a few ants inside our kitchen but we kinda butted in on their spot to begin with right.

Todo el espacio en la Casa Rosada es muy bueno. Cumplio mis espectativas y esta muy cerca de una de las mejores playas del país. La casa es muy comoda para familias grandes y tiene todo lo necesario para cocinar en el lugar. Hay parrilla para hacer asados, hay un salón muy grande para que toda la familia pueda comer junta.
Por ser un lugar donde se puede viajar con familia sería importante colocar mayor seguridad en las gradas que bajan hacia la piscina ya que un niño puede caerse por estas y la piscina no es apta para niños e inclusive para adultos que no saben nadar ya que es muy profunda.

El dueño nos dio indicaciones acerca de qué playas visitar por la zona.
Tiene una terraza muy bonita.
La cama era muy cómoda y la habitación disponía de AC.
Nos hicieron la colada sin costo extra.
La ducha-jacuzzi está en la habitación y esto nos resultó un poco extraño.
El acceso son 4,5km de carretera sin asfaltar.

Excellent location right beside a national reserve park (jungle). Animals came during the night and were not shy to show themselves in our open air kitchen. Pizotes, racoons, monkeys, white squirrels and a crab made an appearance. Five minutes (by car) away from a beautiful beach, in which you can walk safely some 100 meters into the sea and the water barely reaches your chest. 10 minutes from Conchal beach walking along said beach. Staff was super helpful and friendly, Lizet treated us like princes and Andres treated us like kings. Cannot be more satisfied. If you are coming with a bug group, ask for the white house, which boasts a private 12 person pool/jacuzzi. It’s four hours from Alajuela, get a 4x4 if you are coming during the rainy season. Buy groceries to cook your meals, it’s cheaper, faster and more convenient. There is a fully stocked kitchen, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, microwave, gas range, gas grill, two full fridges and a free standing freezer, toaster oven, coffee maker (with filters), etc. Rocking chairs, a big family table, chairs and a hammock. If you need something else Lizet or Andres will get it for you. You get your own entrance and parking place. Don’t go by bus. You need a car.
There was a faint moisture odour, but let’s face it… it’s the jungle. What did you expect?

Todo excelente y bonito; solo que como llovía en las noches no se pudo utilizar la piscina, pero en la mañana sí y, está muy buena para relajarse, después de bastante sol y caminar como nunca.
No supimos el wifi; no nos dio tiempo de preguntar porque de noche llovía mucho y no se podía salir.
Sería bueno tener un contacto directo (personal) y también por WhatsApp.

location was close to what we wanted to do. Was clean and our host was friendly and helpful with local beach recommendations.

The outdoor covered terrace and kitchen were roomy and very comfortable for our group of four. The kitchen was well-equipped and the hammocks excellent for rainy afternoons. One of the king size beds was extremely comfortable, the other just ok. Bathrooms were a good size. The pool was very clean.
We saw lots of iguanas and howler monkeys nearby, and on our last day a small troop of monkeys passed right by our terrace.
We stayed in Casa Amarilla and the three bedrooms all had exterior entrances wrapping around the circular shape of the building. As a family with two elementary age kids, we took a 3-bed villa to allow everyone a little extra space but ended up not using all three bedrooms because it didn’t feel safe for each child to be alone in a bedroom. The a/c unit in our adult bedroom was so loud that there was no way we would have heard our kids if there was a problem in the night. I was disappointed in this layout, which wasn’t made explicit in the listing, and attempted to switch to a smaller (cheaper) casa but the owner, Andres, didn’t respond to my email with request.
the pool is very deep with essentially no shallow end — only good for independent swimmers.

This place is SUPERB!!! We got an amazing suite of AC rooms, three decks for seating, a pool out our door, a huge kitchen, and gorgeous gardens. And monkeys! And a 10" walk to a secluded calm-water beach with white sand, no development, and rocky areas for snorkeling. Once we arrived, we didn't want to leave. We all wished we could have stayed longer. This would be a great place to stay for many days with a big crew of friends a/o family.

It was a great location, short walk to the beach. There was one restaurant and the facility had a great pool.
It is very remote location and there is no contact person on site. We were two female travellers, we needed some help one evening and there was nobody available, would have been great to have a WhatsApp number.

The host was extremely friendly, helpful and always in a good mood. He even searched for us to show us monkeys crossing the trees around the area. We enjoyed also the beaches which can be reached in a few minutes.
All in all it was a really nice stay, we only can recommend it.

This is the perfect place to go if what you’re looking for is a true get-away in nature. The villas are all nestled between beautiful trees, gorgeous tropical plants all around you, and mornings greet you with sounds of birds and howler monkeys in the nearby protected forest. The team working there were super welcoming and kind, and it is clear that they are truly a team, dedicated to providing a relaxed, unpretentious environment that can make you really feel at home. If you’re trying to have a maximalist packed tourism agenda, there are plenty of other places for that. If you want to feel like you’ve been away to a nature paradise with kind hosts, this is a winner.
The only thing I can think of as a negative is not really to do with the property or under their control at all, but the road leading to the property from Matapalo was rough with many potholes. This made it initially challenging to get there, and we were racing the sun to get there before dark - so plan ahead. This also adds time to get to other places - however, we were very happy to stick with the gorgeous local beaches and the lower-traffic nature of the place led to a lovely, relaxing experience.

It was a great spot to stay, in the jungle, but still close to the beaches. There are some beautiful beaches along the 'dirt road' where we saw turtles laying eggs and dotted stingrays! Big house, with pool next to it! Very friendly owner, flexible and good communication, that helped us alot, thx!
It's a bit 'old' in the basis, owner is slowly building it up again (great job!) and it's a bit hard to find because of lack of better directions. Easy fix I would say ;-) Also they could have a bit better communication on the website (pool was shared, we thought private)

Place is very quiet and in the middle of the jungle and walkable to the beach, almost private due to limited ways to get thru unpaved roads to get to it. Nice jogging and hiking trails. Fun ATV experience, good for families Last but not least, try Big Momma's kitchen, the most authentic Costa rican food.
If it is raining, almost impossible to get to place or get out. Make sure you have jeep or something full size SUV to drive thru. Last 7 kilometers could be dangerous at times and in case you get stuck, there is no or little cell service. One advice, very last right turn, that leads to dirt road, keep going straight on Route 933, within a minute or two, you will be directed to take right on another dirt road, life saver.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. We were upgraded to the bigger villa for free and wow was it beautiful...just like the website pics. Andres was very nice, helpful, and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Andres is the best host! We really enjoyed staying at his place and are thankful for his private sightseeing Trip. We can highly recommend Villa la Paz for larger groups.

You must have a car!!! You realy dont want to go to beach by foot 400m on dirt roud. Very nice red vila, hidden in the palm trees. Kitchen inside, well equiped. Beautifull porch. Nice owner.

Plugged shower drain that caused quite a stink. A pretty rough dirt road to get there, which I didn’t expect…not a major problem though.

Hotel staff — Andre! — was super helpful. Proximity to beautiful, swimmable beaches — Minas & Conchal — is great. Both are walkable distance. Plenty of wildlife too.
Wish they kept a few bicycles on site for travelers without cars.
It’s somewhat isolated so bring groceries!

This secluded location provided the perfect backdrop for a serene vacation. Although somewhat remote, we were still a 15 minute walk to one beach and a short drive to playa mina. Playa flamingos was 30 minutes away. This spot was peaceful and facilities were amazing. I loved the open air kitchen and plunge pool. I practiced yoga every morning underneath the serene shade. Although breakfast was not included, we were able to buy and store fruit in the refrigerator. There were also ample kitchen appliances. The house was stunning: there were two full bedrooms with bathrooms and then 4 bunk beds with a bathroom and shower. The beds were comfortable and i loved the tropical vibe of the place. Andres was very, very helpful and welcoming. He offered us ample suggestions, directions and advice. He is an incredibly knowledgeable host!
We had a little difficulty checking in as we arrived at the property and there was no one there to greet us. We found a housekeeper who let us in to the room and she contacted Andres who arrived immediately. However, I might recommend maybe having someone onsite to assist new arrivals.
