Location Staff service was so helpful

Room size The allocation area in the room i.e. sofa is totally unnecessary Some equipment in the room was broken i.e. bedside lamp, some lights. The shower area is enclosed by a curtain instead of glass in the 3J rooom. Too small bed for 2 pps.

The room was lovely had everything I needed.

Close to Liverpool Street Station, great location, vibrant area. Bed was fine, problem with TV was fixed. Good to have a fridge.

Was expensive, strange room configuration, very cramped around the bed/bedroom area, not really good for self catering.

Before booking, I did take the time to read previous reviews, although I always try to take these with a pinch of salt and form my own opinion. Unfortunately, on this occasion, several of the concerns raised by previous guests proved to be rather more accurate than I would have liked. Having noted the comments about noise, I specifically requested a quiet room well in advance, as I was travelling with my child. I was reassured that this would be accommodated. Sadly, this promise didn’t quite make it through to reality, and we were allocated a street-facing room directly above a busy bar. Needless to say, peace and quiet were somewhat elusive! On a positive note, the room itself had everything advertised, was spacious, and even included complimentary bottled water, which was gratefully received. The stair carpet was also as other reviewers had described: rather worn and threadbare in places. However, this was purely cosmetic and didn’t have any significant impact on our stay. Unfortunately, things took a rather more dramatic turn at 05:34am when the fire alarm sounded, providing an unexpectedly early start to our Sunday morning. My child and I, along with other residents, evacuated the building. There was no obvious sign of a fire, so I contacted the hotel through this app and also called the out-of-hours number for advice. I was informed that the alarm had probably been triggered by the heat from someone taking a shower and was advised to call the fire brigade myself. Now, I appreciate that false alarms happen, but this is where things become rather concerning. I work for the emergency services and understand how stretched resources can be. Calling the fire brigade to investigate what appears to be a recurring issue with the hotel’s fire alarm system is hardly an ideal use of their time, particularly when the underlying problem seemingly remains unresolved.
