However, if you're looking for a romantic escape or a peaceful rejuvenation, The Boathouse is the perfect haven. We have free WiFi, a television, a chrome cast and a wireless speaker. It is a full kitchen with an oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. There will be a welcome pack for you when you arrive, including tea and coffee. We understand that your furry friend is a part of the family, so feel free to inquire about bringing a small dog along. We'll be happy to consider your application. Quality bed linen is provided as well as a clean and tidy bathroom, as per the pictures. Please note, there are no laundry facilities. A pickup and drop-off service can be arranged upon request for longer stays.

Our little getaway
We had a great time staying at this property. I love the privacy and our private lift!! The view was amazing as in the photos and so quiet and calming, not to mention the friendliest neighbourhood doggo. Love the fireplace in the middle of winter and painting on the wharf at sunset. The boathouse on the water front
The boathouse is everything described and more! A picture perfect setting, hidden away with your own private jetty. Only minutes away to the shops & beach & a few more minutes to Palm beach & Whale beach with plenty of beautiful restaurants to choose from all around. We truly enjoyed our stay here tucked away in a hidden oasis. From the booking to the end of our stay, Dianne & her husband were outstanding hosts & I thank you so much. We look forward to staying again in the near future!

A little piece of Paradise!
We had the most wonderful stay at the gorgeous Boathouse.
Dianne is such a lovely, hospitable host and always responds quickly to any requests or queries.
The location is just perfect - far enough away from Avalon Village to feel secluded but just a 5 min drive to get to beach and shops/cafes.
We loved it so much we are planning a return visit!

A special little piece of the world
A very comfortable place to decompress & relax. We loved being that close to the water, watching the boats pass by while soaking up the morning sun. Hope to come back again sometime soon.

Wonderful Stay and great hosts
I was heading to Palm Beach to propose to my now fiancèe. The plan was to hike up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse but the pier, pontoon, boathouse and outlook was so magical that I proposed right there on the Pontoon.
Di and Dave were wonderfully accomodating of my every need in the lead up to our big day. They were sic helpful that it made the time there all the more magical.
I would recommend this property to anyone and will definitely be back for many years to come.

Perfect!
My partner and I have just returned from the most amazing weekend away at the Boathouse. We booked very late on a Saturday afternoon for arrival that night, and Dianne got in contact me with instantly which was very helpful. Dianne and David are lovely people and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. As soon as we arrived Dianne showed us around the property and a few things in the Boathouse. The Boathouse is perfect for two people and the view from the deck is just stunning. It includes everything you would need for a weekend away. We spent the entire weekend either at the beach (only around 5 mins away) or just relaxing on the deck. The bedroom window is right on the water and its very nice to wake up to the sound of the water lapping next to you. The Boathouse includes parking which is also great. We went to Jonahs for lunch as well which is only around 10 mins away which I would also highly recommend doing whilst there. We couldn't have picked a perfect property for our weekend away and we are already trying to free up a weekend to come back! The whole Boathouse is extremely private and nothing short of perfect! Can't wait to return.

Amazing Property Wonderful Owners
From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the warmth of the owners and the beauty of this location. Dianne and David were welcoming and helpful, even driving us to the restaurant and booked a taxi for our return trip. We had limited time in Australia and they were flexible letting us stay for just one night. We only stayed one night but we will be back.

Magnificent property at the waters edge in beautiful Careel Bay, in the centre of the lovely Northern Beaches. Our hosts Dianne and David looked after us very well, even kind enough to drive us to dinner nearby one night. We will be back!

A Magical Experience!
We just returned from a weekend at the boat house - what a magical experience!
What a rare opportunity to stay in such a beautiful accommodation. I don't know anywhere else in Sydney where you can stay in a boat house and I highly recommend making a booking if your fortunate enough to find an availability.
The boathouse is the perfect romantic getaway and ideal for a stress free break away and it has everything you need. The view is breathtaking, exactly like the photographs and the home and garden are meticulously maintained. Our expectations were absolutely met and exceeded!
Diane welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. Thank you for opening up your boathouse for people like ourselves who are looking for something truly special and unique. We will be returning next time we need a weekend away.

Owner spoiled our stay, constant harassment
We booked 12/11/16, when Dianne was made aware that we are bringing our 7 & 8 yr olds, and paid an additional $49 per child per night .

We arrived Fri 27th at 3.15 pm.
We were greeted by Dianne, who questioned the ages of my children, then made comments that they looked small ! She discussed at length that children were not usually allowed.
That afternoon the children washed their feet at the hose and Dianne asked us not to allow them to touch it. Then reiterated how precious the boathouse was. At this point we began to feel extremely uncomfortable.
On Sat our friends arrived to go out on our boat. 1 Adult and a 7 yr old. While another adult and a 5yr old were going shopping with me and my daughter for the day. As soon as they got out of the car, Dianne came out to tell me they were not allowed to stay. When I explained that only the 7yr old and his father were passing through to our boat and would not be staying on the property. She pointed to the little girl (a 5 yr old) and said she look under 7.
I told Dianne that she was making us feel very uncomfortable. She said if we wanted to leave, she would give us the rest of our stay back after an inspection.
She then followed it up with an email, stating children under 7 yrs where not allowed on the jetty. The 5yr yr was never on the jetty and was with her Mother for the 10 min she was in the Boat House.
Later that afternoon, I dropped my friend and her 5 yr old back at her car off the property, then went to get her husband and 7 yr old. On my way back to the boat House she yelled to me over her balcony, asking if I received her email. I told her we had and had decided to stay.
Dianne asked me how many children was in my husbands boat which docking and at that time. I said 2 my son (8) and his friend (7). She said if the 7 yr old comes onto her property he will be trespassing! He was only going to travel up the inclinator back to my car.
The next morning at 11am (Sunday) Dianne came and apologized for making us feel unconformable and gave us a bottle of Moet. Though we appreciated her gesture, it was less than 24 hr until we were leaving, and she had spoiled our stay.
We left the next morning (Monday) at 9.45, texting and emailing Dianne to let her know we had left. We did not receive our deposit back until Thursday.
Dianne's constant harassment made us feel very uncomfortable. Instead of a relaxing weekend, we were anxious and stressed the whole time.

The BoatHouse on the water proved to be a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Right on the water with great views to the east and very comfortable accommodation. Dianne and David ensured we were welcomed and then allowed our privacy, thank you. Not cheap, but when you consider what you get, certainly value for money.
