Not a resort. Not 5-star. Better suited for Business Travel

Beautiful room and bathroom. Close to marina with jet skis and boat trips to Prison Island. Beautiful well maintained pool. The staff in general are very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed Othman. The spa facilities are extensive and upmarket.

Not a resort...just a normal hotel with a pool. Definitely not a 5-star...more like a 3 or 4-star at best. Not suitable for tourists, as it is more for business travel...the atmosphere is stiff. There is no 'island vacation vibe' here whatsoever. Landscaping is not up to standard. Breakfast buffet was disappointing every morning, but would be as expected if the hotel was rated a 3-star. Water park only operates on weekends. No alcohol which should be made more clear to travellers. No activites (animations) as it is more suited for business travel. Overall, this is not a good option for a tourist.

Nothing i did like in this hotel

The room was not clean and dirty, ( I had to manage big spider ,and cockroach inside the room and the bathroom , the bed sheet was in bad shape , one of the room spotlights was flashing on and off constantly, eventually the food at the breakfast was terrible quickly unfortunately, the room service food was a disaster even I couldn’t complete any of the 3 meals i had ordered, one of the worst experience ever in any hotel i had to stay in my life

Nice City Hotel ; good base to explore the City

Great location, very nice staff especially Sylvester who served all our meals while we were there. Rooms were as shown.

We arrived several hours before check-in and while most hotels would do a courtesy early check-in we got an “ excuse “ that our specific rooms ( standard ) were not ready yet the hotel was virtually empty leading us to conclude that they don't allow early check-in but don't want to outright state it.

Try not to stay in the standard rooms

Staying in the standard rooms was a mistake. We should have gotten a hint from the staff. The bathroom is dirty and the rooms not very well taken care of. The bed also sinking so we didn’t really sleep. The staff are heavenly! Extremely kind and full of info and hospitable. Great location in terms of access to the airport and the town centre since we slept there on our last night . We got to the airport in less than 20 minutes. Once again, the staff at the restaurant were the highlight of our stay. The two trainees at the reception, a gentleman and a lady were so professional and friendly they made me feel at home.

Standard rooms are clearly neglected. Dirty birthroom. AC not well functioning, bed and it’s worn out springs so sinking.

Could have been better we had to check out to another hotel

The room was clean but the entertainment was so bad Azam TV is bare minimum to what DSTV can offer and most movies were in Indian

They should have been clear that the water park is serviced during this time of the year and not let people book the kids end up being so bored because they don’t have entertainment.

Marvelous stay

Spacious room witj clear sea view, a very good breakfsst with lots of varieties, the special Zanzibar’s tea, the Gym

I wasnt picked or dropped off at the airport. Well, I didnt check whether they provide “free” shuttle services though

Poor service 👎🏾

Actually i paid the same amount shown on the app... Instead the day i was checking out they asked me to pay more money while it was their mistake ... They said their exchange rate is different from the app...

Will probably find something better value for money and in Stone town next time

Room was fantastic, overlooking the sea! pool was clean and staff were really helpful and nice!

It seems to be impossible to book a cab. Price changed 3 times depending if you ask the reception or the newly created taxi service. I was supposed to be picked up from town at 3pm and driver never arrived so I had to find one off the street- not great for solo female. Then the owner of the taxi service started arguing with me that the driver was there…

Nice

The variety at breakfast was great. Rukaiya at the front office was very pleasant to deal with. We had a room upgrade during check in and we had a room with a beautiful view of the 3 islands ( prison island, snake island and a 3rd which I can't quite remember). It's a 10mins drive to Forodhani beach and Stonetown. The hotel offered free kayaking which was great value for money.

not far from stone town staff at the reception Salma as well guest manager I guess Khamis his name was very helpful smiling offering solutions etc

flies all over even in the buffet area staff very slow as well when you need service it takes ages asked for iron receptionist mentioned someone will come and never came
