We absolutely loved our stay at Landgasthof Zum Weissen Schwanen! The hotel is bursting with charm, history, and stunning art, wherever you look. The owners and staff were incredibly welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast, and the thoughtful offer of a packed lunch was a lovely touch.
Perfectly location for exploring Braubach and the Rhine, our stay was genuinely wonderful from start to finish.
What's not to like? We had a wonderful stay...

Braubach is a wonderful village, preserving its historic character, with a marvellous castle looming above it and the River Rhein flowing past it.
The hotel is a charming building, and they have preserved its character in the main building. I suspect it has other outlying building so I’m not sure if all parts of this review apply; but we were in the main building.
The breakfast buffet is very nice, and they have a very nice policy of allowing you to make yourself a little packed lunch from it at breakfast time.
We were there in a heatwave, and in common with most German traditional guesthouses, there was no air conditioning in our building. Downstairs it was fine, but on the top floor we were sweating all night, which made it hard to sleep. We found some fans in the hallway which helped. I’m sure we would have been given them if we had asked!
If this is a family-run establishment, I suspect they were on holiday themselves when we were there (August) as the well-regarded restaurant was closed on the nights we were there, and the staff presence felt a little minimal and low-key - although this did not cause any problems at all, it felt a little deserted at times.

The location, medieval buildings, city walls and watermill as part of the accommodation.... this is something you need to experience in person, not just from the pictures. :-) And everyone was kind and nice, no problem with anything.

Very friendly helpful staff when staff was present.
Very strange artwork. Lots of paintings of men grabbing women's breasts and disected dolls with underwear. Very uncomfortable for us as travellers with children. Beds and pillows were not particularly comfortable. One of the cups in the bathroom was dirty with toothpaste upon arrival and towel rack was falling off the wall. Keys were left on the desk with instructions to our room, but no one was at the desk when we arrived. We had a hard time following the German instructions to one of our rooms. Wifi connected for my husband but not for me. Roomservice listed, but restaurant was a completely separate building from the hotel.
