Friendly staff, lovely grounds
Attic room was far too warm, even with trying the air con and subsequently opening window. 2 flies and 2 ladybirds in room when I arrived, and no fridge. Tricky to sleep due to heat.

Lovely location, beautiful period property
Some areas of the property was tired looking and in need of refurbishing. The room heaters were turned up full and the room was very warm and stuffy, which didn’t explain the rationale for only 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels to save energy for 2 people sharing. The shampoo dispenser was broken, had to wash my hair with the body wash.

Shame to offer such a comfortable bed within thin walls and banging doors. Room 2 if one seeks a sleepless night and a migraine.
At this price point, one would expect a better level of maintenance. The staff are either absent or disinterested. Such a comfortable bed, all the better to lie awake in, such is the noise level in the corridors/room next door. The robes were old and unappealing- greyish white and well past their best. Peeling paint, doors that don’t open easily. Breakfast was fine when we worked out where we could sit amidst dirty tables, absent staff, lack of signage or direction. Sad coffee although the cooked breakfast was quite good. There is nothing else by way of yogurt or fruits or cold meats and cheeses or such like. This place could be an easy 10 - alas, without soundproofing, interested staff, basic maintenance and a suitable breakfast offering, it’s barely a 5.
