I have recommended this hotel to several people and I will continue to do so. Stay in business!

Very responsive when I asked questions via email while booking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location in Downtown Cairo. Large and clean room. Large and clean bathroom with hot water for bathing. Good Turkish coffee in the morning.

The rooms on Talaat Harb street can be noisy.

Room was clean with no bugs, had hot water, and good AC. Good wifi to, were a 2 hiccups with it where I could not use it but the staff quickly fixed it. Very close to the metro and Egyptian Museum. Safe area but there are hustlers

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT BUDGET HOTEL, GREAT STAFF & OWNER.

The friendly & accommodating staff and its personable multi-language speaking owner Mr. Nabil (fluent French, English & Arabie). I stayed here for 9 nites, and felt like family the entire time. The hotel organizes desert safaris to the trippy White Desert, and can organize reliable car hires, all for a very fair price. My room was spacious, very airy & well lit, and with a small neat balcony. Golden Hotel also offers same day laundry priced per piece. The cleaning & laundry staff were kind & helpful, too. And, you can’t beat the central location in downtown Talat Harb, just a stone’s throw from the old Cairo Museum, & in the neighborhood of all kinds of eating options. I would stay here again in a heart beat. And, great water pressure in the shower along with the water temperature you desire (you adjust to your liking). And, excellent communication prior to arrival. A basic breakfast included to start your day.

There was nothing to dislike. I prepaid my reservation on an on-line booking app, so I don’t know if the hotel accepts credit cards or not. I paid cash for my drivers & tours & laundry.

Genuinely enjoyable – I spent ten nights and would not hesitate to return.

The owner and staff were very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. My days started with the ring of gentle laughter over breakfast and the atmosphere throughout my stay was unfailingly pleasant and welcoming. The hotel offers good-value private tours with relaxed, patient drivers in new, well-maintained cars – a rare find in Cairo and I highly recommend them.

Hard to find fault at this very decent price.

Golden hotel

We have liked the location near the Egyptian museum, the welcome and the help we got to organise our trip to various sites and the airport. The host is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and comfy.

Although the entrance to the building is not very appealing, the place is convenient and ticks the boxes for a short stay. We would have appreciated a kettle in the bedroom..

Great location, great value, even better staff.

Warm and welcoming staff who gave me great advice for exploring Cairo. Exceptional value for the location and a made-to-order breakfast included. If I travel through Cairo again this is where I will stay.

Reconsider your need to stay here

Room 502 deluxe double. A large room in Central Cairo near Tahrir Square. Staff ever present and pleasant, helpful. Clean and cleaning staff top especially laundry service. TV good size a range of channels. Has hdmi port for your computer connection. A new fridge in the room, The kitchen appears in the room pictures on booking but is not in the room. Hot water good supply and pressure, wet bathroom. Bathroom relatively new in reasonable condition. Bed large and comfortable with warm quilts for cold mornings. Good aircon.

Front rooms noisy from street noises until early hours. Sound proofing between next room non existent. Balcony door wouldn't shut properly I was told it would be fixed "tomorrow", day one, not fixed the 6 days there. WiFi patchy dropping in and out and uses invasive MSN log in page which is a real pain. We are digital nomads, it was not an adequate workspace nor were wifi connections adequate. no kettle, no cups or mugs or glasses. Those are available in a common area kitchen.

Very good value for money

Very good value for money, nicely furnished and clean room in a location which was convenient for me. Had everything I needed. Friendly staff.

I had some problems with the Wifi connection sometimes and 3G did not work in my room

Good choice in downtown

Great location, only 2 mins walk from Tahrir Sq (Sadat Sq). Staffs are very nice and easy-going. Bright and spacious room. Reasonable clean.

Basic clean hotel centrally located

Clean and almost new room. Comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Central location near Egyptian Museum.

Small room, especially bathroom. No separation between toilet and shower. Ok for $40 however. No breakfast. No major problem as there are many restaurants nearby.

Superb

Rooms are modernized, very bright and spacious. Washrooms are clean and not humid. Great value for a downtown location, walking distance to the Cairo Museum. Note that it’s a cage elevator, in case that scares you. The best thing about the property is the older gentleman at the door who greets you. Not sure he works for the place, he is selling some items but super polite about it and he’s so positive.

Staff pressures me to use their transfer services and PCR tests. Understandably it’s more convenient but if I say, would like them not to keep asking.
