Xandari Riverscapes are a fleet of house boats which sails along Vembanad Lake and in the backwaters of Alleppey. The houseboats are docked near Pallathuruthy Bridge.

We absolutely loved the tour through quiet and uncontaminated canal. The staff were lovely and prepared us delicious meals. The boat was so spacious and had a fantastic upper deck.
The boat was poorly maintained. It requires more in depth cleaning (the windows had not been cleaned for months, lots of dust under the bed, some of the light buttons were greasy) and a few extra decor touches would be needed in order to make the stay a 5 star experience (worth the price of the one day trip). For example, the dining area was extremely basic, with old chairs and dirty pillows, a table with a crystal table not that shining, cold lighting, etc.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay with Xandari Riverscapes and couldn’t recommend the experience more highly. The package ran from midday check-in to 9am the following morning and included three meals, all freshly prepared on board using local ingredients. Every meal was absolutely delicious, offering a wonderful insight into Kerala’s local cuisine, and there was certainly no shortage of food!
The views were simply magical, and the highlight was undoubtedly the canoe trip through the smaller backwater channels. It was a wonderful way to explore the surrounding waterways and experience a quieter side of Kerala.
The boat itself was beautiful, with a lovely deck and thoughtful decor throughout. However, what really made the experience special was the staff. They struck the perfect balance between being attentive and available whenever needed, while also giving us complete privacy and leaving us to enjoy the experience at our own pace.
Considering everything included, we also thought it represented excellent value for money. A truly memorable experience, and one we would recommend to anyone visiting Alleppey. We would happily do it all over again!

Efficient check in.
There are far to many boats doing this trip. Apart from an hour in the morning, we were surrounded by numerous other barges. Not really what is sold as a peaceful cruise through quiet backwaters. The stitch canoe trip felt contrived and awkward for local people.
