Honestly the best experience of our trip to India, cruising along the backwaters was incredible. The crew were so kind to us and made us incredible food including a banana leaf platter for lunch, snacks and dinner! We felt very looked after. The bedroom was so much nicer than I expected for a houseboat as was the bathroom. I think the best part about this boat when I compared it to others was the fact it had a balcony. Not many 2 person boats did. I really recommend this houseboat.
Where we docked at night was quite noisy from other boats. I think if we’d stayed another night this would have been more secluded so I wish we had stayed an extra night!

Our entire experience on the houseboat was spectacular, we loved everything from all the staff to the amazing food and amenities. Vijay, kochumon and babu took great care of us, important part of the boat is upper deck The upper deck is incredible nice comfort sitting and dinning area. We highly recommend booking the house boat experience with this company.

Amazingly furnished house boat, especially compared to some of the other ones we’d seen.
The food was incredible that the chef put on, a lot of stuff we’d never think to try.
We got to go on another smaller boat as part of the experience in the early morning, this is strongly recommended as the sun was beautiful.
Bed was super comfy and you genuinely didn’t feel like you were on a boat!
We didn’t have any email or communication before our arrival so wasn’t sure what to expect. Check in is 11:30 but we didn’t arrive until 1:30 and was told we were late which then meant we didn’t get as long on the experience.
We also didn’t get told we’d have to pay cash for the stay, which then meant we didn’t have any cash for anything else.
It would’ve been nice to have an email beforehand just saying if you wanted to bring any drinks (beer or soft drinks) then to buy before as no shops sold beer.

Very friendly staff, comfortable, we booked for two and enjoyed it in a private atmosphere,abundand and delicious food, top level is very cosy and comfortable

wow ! what a fantastic experience. we booked the houseboat just for the 2 of us and the crew could not have done more for us . The boat is beautifully fitted out , the food was delicious and so much of it ! had the best nights sleep and waking up to the sunrise in this stunning setting was fantastic. it’s a very competitive market but I would definitely recommend this boat above others

Wow.! Word's can't describe how incredible our whynot houseboat experience was.we have just stayed on the 2 bedroom houseboat for 2 nights and from start to finish the staff were exceptional.the food was delicious and we were so well looked after,the boat is ver beautiful and very comfortable upper deck OMG superb best upper deck ever in other houseboat view from the upper deck were out of this world.. would highly recommend -once in a lifetime experience..

The boat was a completely different one compared to what we saw on booking.com’s images, but that worked in our advantage. the boat we were on was even better!
the staff was working really hard to make everyone’s stay a good one, and were very friendly.
The shower was the best we had during our trip, and beds were big enough for us “big western people”
We hoped we would dock somewhere in the nature during the night; but instead we docked next to the harbour (and construction site).
And the check out time is way too early. we already got of the boat at 8:45. after we had an hour delay to get on the boat (12:30) the day before. This early checkout feels like your getting rushed of the boat, and if there is one thing we don’t want during our holiday, it is being rushed early in the morning.

L'idée d'une mini-croisière est séduisante mais les bateaux sont très très nombreux et ils font tous le même périple.
Ce bateau est sale et inconfortable. Le patron est un roublard qui veut être payé en liquide. Il annule la réservation booking pour que vous ne puissiez pas laisser de commentaire (j'ai dû contacter directement Booking pour qu'ils m'ouvrent un commentaire). La climatisation n'est disponible que le soir. Il n'y a pas de wifi, il faut demander à un employé de partager sa connexion et vous devenez donc dépendant de sa situation dans le bateau. Je ne sais pas comment ce bateau a pu obtenir les bons commentaires que je vois, il doit s'agir d'un autre bateau ou bien s'agit-il de commentaires de complaisance.

The food. Hassle free. Lot of option for food and it was absolutely delicious. The boat was lovely. The staff excellent. The entire experience was amazing.
Multiple power cuts that lasted a few seconds however this didn’t impact us a lot. At our overnight stop the music was extremely loud so it was difficult to sleep at first however this may due to the fact we booked over a festival or significant event which is outwit the fault of why not. That being said I would highly highly recommend this trip and would not let this put you off.

We are pretty sure this is the coolest houseboat in all of Alleppey because it‘s roof is open and comes with many comfy areas to relax and sunbathe. All the other boats we have seen were much more covered, so we felt lucky. Amazing crew providing excellent service and food. They were very kind to accommodate my vegan diet - it was all super delicious! Just be ready to overeat! ;-) Super clean room with a comfy bed. Staff was easy to talk to but they also let us chill if we felt like just reading our books. We would always come back and pick the exact same boat. It does cost more than the others but it does come with higher comfort too!
We do recommend to replace the AC in our room as it could not be adjusted to a level that felt nice (it blew air way too hard). Also, the controller needs replacement as it is dirty. Everything else was great.

We loved our stay on Why Not Houseboat. Booked one room and had the boat alone for us in the end together with the cook Suresh and the captain Prince who both made the stay even better.
What a cook Suresh is- wow! Best authentic keralan food served while going around on the backwaters.
The room is very nice and clean and we loved the upstairs sitting area where you have the best view from.
The place we stopped and stayed for the night was also fine, quite quiet in the evening and night.
The only thing though is that we would have wished to see some parts of the backwaters that are more quiet, we mostly went with all the other boats on the big canals and when we did kayaking in the early morning we were hoping we’ll go to the smaller canals but Prince just brought is a bit further on the big canals where all the boats were parking for the night. This could really be improved in making the kayaking happen in the afternoon and the boat doesn’t stop long for lunch or for the massage and there’s more time to see the smaller canals around where there are no big boats.

Great houseboat! The rooms and decor of the houseboat was really nice. The houseboat is open at the top so you can have unobstructed views of the backwaters. The food served was also delicious. Looking at the other houseboats of the water, ours clearly looked better than most!

The boat was really nice and comfortable, loads of space and the bedroom and bathroom were very nice. The food was really plentiful and tasty and the boat ride was very pleasant and went on all afternoon. Would definitely recommend this trip!
They don’t let you pay with card, which is annoying given it is quite a lot of money to carry around in cash.
We also messaged the host the evening before our stay to ask if alcohol would be available to purchase and he said yes, but that turned out not to be true. Would still recommend but keep in mind you won’t be able to drink!

Relaxation in the highest gear. This houseboat is beautiful and very comfortable. Lots of open space to enjoy. Upstairs dining room and seating area with beautiful view. Downstairs is room, kitchen and another seating area. Everything is neat and clean

Why not was probably one of the more comfortable houseboats on offer. The crew were excellent and the food outstanding.
There were rather more houseboats on the backwaters than I had expected making the canals and mooring places very busy. I found the mattress a little uncomfortable and whilst it was very nice to have air conditioning the air conditioner in the bedroom.had a very bright light thatcould not be switched off.

Un bateau super beau. La terrasse à l’étage est géniale pour profiter du voyage. La chambre est confortable. L’équipage était aux petits soins et on fait de notre croisière un moment d’exception. La nourriture était copieuse et délicieuse. Ils nous ont proposé pleins d’activités annexes super sympa : massage dans un centre Aryuvedique, ballade en petit bateau dans les canaux, grosse crevette tigre pour le dîner. Prévoyez des espèces pour ces activités et payer la location du bateau

It was a such great moment! This houseboat is so clean. Softly on the backwaters you ll can relax in a luxury condition. The room are so confortable, the deck is stunning. The food is delicious served on a banana leaf. You can stop also on a fish market on the way and ask to cook your own food. Wifi available on the boat and also possibility to visit a small canal, inside a village with a smaller extra boat. All was perfect

It was very well maintained and clean. The food was amazing. We were served welcome drink, and a full platter of Sadhya ( on a banana leaf) and evening Kerala banana bajji. Food was very authentic and tasty. They are kid friendly as well and accommodated all our expectations. I would recommend anyone planning a house boat to approach them. We had left our expensive slippers on the house boat and when we called them they couriered our slippers all the way to Bangalore. Really appreciate this gesture.

Our stay at the houseboat was absolutely delightful! The staff provided us with complete privacy, allowing us to feel entirely at ease during our time there. We felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. A big shoutout to Tony, who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Despite arriving 5 hours before check-in, he kindly allowed us to rest in the office area. Additionally, after checking out, he generously lent us a scooter for the day and even arranged a cab for our convenience. The entire staff displayed the utmost professionalism and attentiveness. It was truly the best stay we've had. We highly recommend this houseboat for an unforgettable and relaxing experience. A sincere thank you to the staff for making our stay so wonderful!

The boat was comfortable, spacious and clean. When you arrive the broker shows you to your boat and introduces you to the chef and captain.
The journey is lovely, it’s very peaceful and picturesque. You pay around an extra £8 for lunch and dinner, the chef we had was particularly good, his paneer masala was 11/10. You need to let the chef know on arrival if you’re ok with spices, if not the food will be plain. They provide bottled water and the hygiene of the kitchen was good.
You stop off at some backwaters for the evening, this was at a quiet place, there’s a few small shops around that you can go and get snacks from. We played connect 4 with the chef (which we had brought ourselves). I suggest bringing some entertainment.
Our boat also arranged an extra boat trip for us on a smaller boat in the morning so we could see some of the backwaters that our bigger boat couldn’t fit down.
We had a great, memorable trip.
When we left the boat we walked through some other boats to get off, it was a good opportunity to see some of the other boats and their standard which seems to vary greatly. Ours was definitely more modern than some in comparison.
I didn’t particularly like how many times the broker messaged asked me to leave a review. I had already agreed in person to leave one when I was home, I didn’t need additional WhatsApp reminders.
If you do want to leave the booking until you’re in India, you can arrange it for a lower cost, we met a family that paid the same price for multiple rooms and a glass viewing area. I was however happy paying a little more as our chef was so good.
A clear top would have been better on our boat, because of the rain there was a big opaque tarp covering most of the deck, it could have been transparent.

Don’t count on a nice shower after a sunny day. After a hot day only boiling water comes out of the shower and tap.

Very clean, beautiful rooms, all amenities, friendly staff, great food (vegetarian and non vegetarian both) and well experienced and knowledge captain. The manager and all crew were extremely courteous and helpful. Family was very pleased with stay.

Well that was a truly special superb chilled out..nothing to do all day everyday only soak up the beautiful views and watch River life go by listening to the birds chirping admiring the beautiful kingfishers. We just about had time for a village visit and an ayurvedic massage. I would highly recommend to anyone if visiting to kerala. We did the two night trip on the indulge super premium houseboat. Windows in bed room upperdeck sitting and dining, chill out area. We are so glad we spent extra for this boat. It was beautifully decorated. Our crew were fantastic. The food was so delicious 😋.
