Exceptionally Perfect Place to Stay !

Hotel is relatively a walking distance to the train station and shops. Room is extremely comfy especially the beds and the staff is very helpful in explaining in details of the point of interest and whereabout on location.

Good location.

Convenient location. The tourist service center, train station, 7-11, eateries are all just a short walk away. Great place to stay if you’re planning a sunrise trip, as it’s just a few minutes walk to the pickup locations. For those who drives, there are parking lots right in front of the hotel, reservation not possible though. View from the room is quite pleasant, overlooking a row of cypress trees. Hotel is recently furnished. Clean and new. There’s a build-in desktop with 2 chairs which is good if you need to work on your laptop.

The room is small. The ceiling is relatively low, it can feel quite stifling for tall people. No air conditioning/heating during summer, in contrary to information provided on the booking platform. They do provide a standing fan but it can still get stuffy in the afternoon. Also it can get cold in the night unless you shut the windows, making the room stuffy.

Small, but comfy and new.

The location was good. Just inside the main entrance. The entire building has recently been renovated. Everything appear new and unused.

The room is small, with narrow entry and narrow hallway outside.

Functional overnight stay - exactly what you should expect from a 3-star mountain lodge

Thankfully almost all of the previous complaints we read in the other comments were unfounded or not as serious as described. There are now porters to help carry bags up to the room, so the inconvenience of no elevators is solved. Though you still have to climb up flights of stairs to your floor, which is not bad at all (unless you have a handicapped member in your party). They seemed to have renovated the rooms, so it looks quite new and handy with many multi-plug sockets throughout the room. The amenities, such as toothbrush, toilet paper, bottled water, are now well stocked. The check-in staff is efficient, if a little cold and mechanical (the can really smile a bit more). All the information you need for catching the morning sunrise and walkaround tour is provided in literally one breath.

The rooms are still the same size - that's a fact. But I think every room in Alishan is about the same, unless you want to splurge on Alishan House (or the upcoming Hotel Indigo) which will be 4-6 times what you pay for Shermuh. The rooms can get stuffy with the heater on, but you can even things out by opening the window to let in some fresh air (not environmentally friendly, but you need that good night sleep to be up early for the sunrise). We did not get to eat he hotel breakfast, because we decided to take a leisurely walk down from the top instead of rushing to catch the return train with everyone else, so we ate at a very cute cafe at Mountain Ali Tea No. 35, then got to enjoy the sights / view at a leisurely pace with all the horde of tourists gone. Highly recommended.

Superb

Recently refurbished, with modern amenities unlike most of the hotels in Alishan Park. Cosy but perfect for a night to explore the park and watch the sunrise. Heating kept us very warm even in December. Even had an electric toilet!

Very good

Newly renovated, modern and clean. Probably one of the better hotels in the area as the other hotels are quite old. I would still stay here again if I came back to Alishan and needed to stay in this area.

Room is quite small and able to hear noise from other rooms very easily, especially during 4-5am as people were leaving to see the sunrise.

Small room to fit two queen beds. The size of shower is very small also, but water volume was good. Good take away breakfast during Covid.

Overall is good, if i ever visit Alishan, i will stay here again.

The location is great, staffs are wonderful ! All the rooms are updated.

like the staff told us, they dont have enough space so the room is tiny. Also the building is old so you can hear everything. But there’s nothing u can do about it and I think most of the hotels in Alishan are pretty similar.

Good

We made a booking for 5 persons via the site. However, when we were checking in, the counter staff wanted to charge us for an additional person. When we showed proof that the booking was for 5 persons, they did not push through with the extra charge.

Exceptional

-The room has fully equipped needs and clean exterior.This shows the example what should be the standard of a operating hotel should be. -Breakfast is great but is a little bit limited and oily which is provided by Songhe Restaurant. because i m vegetarian so there is no complain. -Warmly staffs and professional hospitality skill has given me deep impression. -Please kindly keep up the high standard of management. Congradulations for the Grand opening.

-The only complain is no elevator. -little bit concern about the work health and safety for the staff. -Breakfast is great but is a little bit limited and oily which is provided by Songhe Restaurant. because i m vegetarian so there is no complain.However the restaurant staff was a slightly little bit
